Obama Campaign to Host Child Advocacy Forums Across the State

In the tradition of Obama’s community organizing, on going series of forums aims to bring people together around common interests and expertise

MANCHESTER , NH—Throughout the next two weeks, Barack Obama’s New Hampshire campaign will host child advocacy forums in towns around the state. Following on our Faith, Action Change, Forums , these events are the latest in an ongoing series of issue forums grounded in the principles of community organizing. Barack Obama began his career working as a community organizer in Chicago, employing the same concepts to get people involved for change based on their common interests.

The child advocacy forums will bring together advocates, educators, and parents to discuss priorities for young people and Barack Obama’s commitment to expanding opportunities for every child.

“If we’re going to make this country great again, we’ve got to start by making sure our young people have the opportunity to succeed,” said Jonathan Baird, of Wilmot, memberof the New Hampshire Child Advocacy Network. “These forums will allow community members to voice their concerns and their hopes for our children as we head into this critical election.”

The events are free and open to the public, but attendees are encouraged to RSVP to Sally Smith at (603) 668-2008.

The events are open to the press. For information, please contact Reid Cherlin or email nh-media@barackobama.com .
