DOVER – Democratic presidential candidates, elected officials, activists and volunteers will host a booth in the Exhibition Hall at the 132nd Rochester Fair. The fair opens its 10-day run Friday, Sept. 14 at the Cold Spring Park Fairgrounds off Lafayette St. in Rochester.
The Strafford County Democratic Committee booth will offer fairgoers information on party activities, candidates and positions and the opportunity to learn more and get involved.
“The Rochester Fair is one of Strafford County’s biggest events of the year, and we're excited to be part of it again this year,” Strafford County Democratic Committee chair Joan Ashwell said, “Our state senators and representatives will be dropping by our booth throughout the ten days to talk with people, and we expect visits from many Democratic candidates for higher office, too!”
The Democratic presidential campaigns will be featured throughout the fair with each campaign highlighted on a different day. The daily schedule of activities at the Democratic booth follows:
Fri., Sept. 14: Opening Day!
Sat., Sept. 15: Highlighting Sen. Joe Biden’s campaign for president
Sun., Sept. 16: Spotlight on the presidential campaign of Sen. Chris Dodd
Mon., Sept. 17: New Hampshire Needs a New Senator: Stop Sununu in 2008
Tues., Sept. 18: Sen. Hillary Clinton’s campaign is featured
Weds., Sept. 19: Sen. Barak Obama’s campaign is highlighted
Thurs., Sept. 20: Featuring Rep. Dennis Kucinich’s campaign is in the spotlight
Fri., Sept. 21: Gov. Bill Richardson’s campaign is front and center.
Sat., Sept. 22: Sen. John Edwards’ campaign is highlighted
Sun., Sept. 23: Final Day at the Fair!
The Rochester Fair annually attracts more than 125,000 visitors. The Exhibition Building is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
