AFP - Obama forgets...but we remember!

In just one week, President Obama will deliver his State of the Union speech to a joint session of Congress and the nation.

The President always seems to conveniently forget in his speeches that he has been president for the past three years. We can expect him to refuse to take responsibility for how his big spending policies have contributed to our economic woes. Instead, the President will promote class warfare to gain support for his tax increases and bigger government.

So in advance of the State of the Union speech, Americans for Prosperity is launching “Obama Forgets,” a 7-day effort that will highlight some of the Obama Administration’s worst offenses to the principles of limited government and free market enterprise.

"Obama Forgets" will lead up to President Obama’s State of the Union address, when AFP will host large watch parties throughout the country.

Click here to follow the 7-day effort, and attend an AFP-hosted watch party on January 24th. Click here for details on the watch parties!

In advance of President Obama's State of the Union address, we're making sure to keep a spotlight on the Solyndra scandal, one of the worst examples of government cronyism in modern history.

With Solyndra, President Obama used our tax dollars to pick winners and losers in the market place in pursuit of his global warming ideology.  The result was predictable:  failure, wasted tax dollars, bankruptcy for the company and job losses for over 1,000 Americans.  This a glaring example of government cronyism as our tax dollars went to support the companies of wealthy donors to the Obama campaign.

The extent of political cronyism continues to be revealed. The latest reports show that the Administration knew that Solyndra could not pay its bills and planned to fire over 1,100 workers, but told the company to hold off until after the 2010 elections. We must tell President Obama: stop using taxpayer dollars to fund green energy scams like Solyndra because American workers are not political pawns.

Click here to see AFP's new ad and to sign the petition now!

Please take action now, and let the President know that American jobs and the economy are critical, and that you stand on the side of prosperity.

Sincerely,

Tim Phillips

AFP - How to win in 2012

Will you help AFP pull out all the stops in 2012 by making your first-ever donation to AFP?

Please click here immediately to donate $5, $10, $25, $50 or more.

Robert, you and I both know how critical 2012 is going to be for our nation—and it’s up to concerned, patriotic Americans like you and me to bring back the economic freedom policies that made America the most prosperous nation in history, before it’s too late.

In 2012, Americans will choose between the Left’s plan to spend-and-borrow our way to a Greece-like financial collapse—or the tried-and-true economic freedom policies that made America the most prosperous nation in history.

In the next few months, AFP will launch our new 2012 Field Program that will reach more Americans than ever before in AFP history—and expose how the Left’s reckless policies are keeping our economy weak.

Over the next year, AFP’s Field Program will take action in 16 critical states, 204 counties, and will rally not just our 1.9 million conservative activists nationwide—but help attract millions of folks who not yet involved in our fight.

With 75 field coordinators, based right in your own neighborhoods and communities, we will lead the charge with coordinated:

  • Rallies and events,
  • Block walking,
  • Door knocking,
  • Phone banking,
  • And paid media and earned media on TV, radio, print, and the internet.

Robert, you know the kind of results AFP gets—and, in 2012, we’re going to make the biggest impact in our entire history.

But, in order to make our field program a success, we need all-hands-on-deck. Can you help us launch this critical new project next year?

Please click here to make your first donation of $5, $10, $25, $50 or more to AFP—and help us start 2012 strong.

Thank you very much for your support of AFP. When I sit down with my wife and four little ones this Christmas, I’ll look into their eyes realizing that they will have the chance to grow up with the freedoms that made this nation great because of what you’ve done.

Through your support of AFP, you are touching the lives of millions of families across America. So from my family to yours, I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a very happy holiday season.

Sincerely,

JP DeGance, AFP

P.S. Robert, we’re counting on you to help us reach millions of Americans in 2012—and expose the dangerous policies of President Obama and the radical Left. Please click here right now to join the 90,000 individual donors at AFP with your first-ever contribution of $5, $10, $25, $50, or more.

Take Action - Three ways to get involved!

Header

Step 1:

Tell President Obama to stop using taxpayer funds to benefit his political donors!
President Obama spent $535 million of taxpayer stimulus money to prop up Solyndra, a solar panel company run by his political campaign contributors. Even though Department of Energy and White House staffers warned that the company's business model would never work, the loan was rushed out the door anyway. Now that Solyndra has gone belly up, taxpayers are left holding the bill.

When government steps in to pick winners and losers based on politics, it opens the door to even more cronyism. As we've already seen with Solyndra, government betting taxpayer dollars on unproven technologies is a very bad deal. A restrained federal government that doesn't have taxpayer cash to spread around is essential to stopping the cronyism that's ruining our markets. Click here to view AFP's TV ad regarding Solyndra, and to sign the petition now!

Step 2:

Tell Congress to Cut Spending Now!
The federal government has a spending problem and everybody knows it. This year, the federal budget will run more than $1.5 trillion in deficit, and more than 40 percent of every dollar we spend is borrowed. Click here to take action now. Tell your legislators that it's time to Cut Spending Now!

55123_Okray-Recall-Petition-1BWhen the City of Killeen, Texas, chose to give the fired City Manager a $750,000 golden parachute at the taxpayers' expense, Jonathan Okray was incensed. Okray - a 20-year Army veteran and Killeen resident - organized a citizen-driven effort to hold the city council accountable, which has lead to a recall election being called on five of the city council members.

Okray is AFP's Activist of the Month for standing up to outrageous government corruption. Thank you, Jonathan!

AFP - REIN in the bureaucrats!

The Constitution entrusts our elected representatives in Congress with legislative power, but in recent years much of that power has been delegated away to unelected, unaccountable federal bureaucrats.

This week the House of Representatives has an opportunity to fix this. On Wednesday, the House will vote on H.R. 10, the REINS Act, to make it clear that Congress makes the laws in this country, not agency bureaucrats.

Click here to urge your Member of Congress to support the REINS Act and restore the proper balance of power in the legislative process!

The Small Business Administration reported recently that it cost American businesses $1.75 trillion to comply with federal regulations in 2008, more than individual and corporate income taxes combined. With such significant costs, clearly something has gone awry in the process.

The REINS Act helps correct this problem. Whenever an agency seeks to finalize a new “major” regulation – one with an economic impact of $100 million or more – the House and Senate must first vote to approve it, and the President must sign it before it can take effect. Sound familiar? This is how the Framers intended the legislative process to work!

The REINS Act won’t stop every costly federal regulation or solve our existing regulatory problems, but it will ensure that when a new regulation takes effect every citizen will know exactly who voted for it and will be able to hold them accountable. We’ll soon find out how many Members of Congress are willing to accept that responsibility.

Congress should make the laws in our country, not unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats. Click here to take action!

Sincerely,

Americans for Prosperity

AFP - Exposed: Obama's Green Jobs Scam

Do you need any outrageously overpriced solar panels today?

Because President Obama seems to think you and I need a lot of them—and that’s why he steered a whopping $535 million dollars in taxpayer money to Solyndra, a so-called “green jobs” factory.

But it really was a favor factory run by some of Obama’s biggest financial supporters.

This past September, just months after President Obama called them the “true engine of economic growth,” Solyndra closed its doors, put thousands of people out of work, and left you and me stuck with the bill for $535 million dollars.

Of course, President Obama and the liberal mainstream media are doing their best to keep this story from reaching the American people—to the point that Congress actually had to subpoena President Obama last week, just to find out what actually happened to our taxpayer dollars.

Here’s what President Obama doesn’t want anyone to know:

  • He wasted hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to subsidize a failing company owned by one of his biggest financial supporters,
  • He knew Solyndra was nearly bankrupt—and decided to dump even more of our money down the drain in a failed attempt to keep them afloat,
  • He now plans to spend another billion dollars to subsidize more “green technology” products that the American people don’t want or need.

And that’s exactly why AFP just launched a massive new national TV ad campaign to expose the truth behind Obama’s Solyndra mess.

You can view this ad, “Obama’s Green Giveaway,” by clicking here:

AFP must raise $50,000 to keep this ad on TV and reach the American people with the information they have a right to know. How their tax dollars are being wasted. That Obama wants to push another billion dollars in dead-end subsidies and stick you and me with the bill.

And we’re counting on the help of true AFP activists like you to help us make the difference.

Please click here to make your most generous donation of $25, $50, $100 or more to help keep this TV ad on the air.

Rather than working to fix our critical jobs and economic problems, President Obama chose to waste over a half-billion of our taxpayer dollars on useless “green technology.”

And instead of helping put Americans back to work, or reduce our out-of-control federal deficit, President Obama chose to use our money to bail out his biggest financial supporters’ failing solar panel company.

The American people deserve better— they deserve to know about what’s going on. And the waste and out of control spending must stop.

By helping air AFP’s “Obama’s Green Giveaway” TV ad in as many cities as possible, we can help expose the truth to tens of millions of Americans about what happened with Solyndra and alert them about President Obama’s plan to dump billions more of taxpayer dollars down the drain, all to further dead end “green jobs”.

Can we count on your critical donation today?

Please click here to immediately donate $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can give right to now to help us reach our goal of $50,000.

Sincerely,

JP DeGance, AFP

P.S. President Obama wasted $535 million dollars in taxpayer dollars on Solyndra to reward his biggest financial supporters and subsidize dead end “green jobs” at a time when millions of Americans don’t have real jobs. Please help AFP stop him by keeping our new TV ad campaign on the air. Click here to donate $25, $50, $100 or more by clicking here.
