NH Senate Statement on Death of Officer Stephen Arkell 

Concord, NH – Senate President Chuck Morse and Democratic Leader Sylvia Larsen released the following statement today on the tragedy in Brentwood that took the life of Officer Stephen Arkell:


“On behalf of the State Senate, we extend our sympathies, thoughts, and prayers to Officer Arkell’s family, friends, and the entire Brentwood Police Department.  Monday evening’s tragic and senseless incident was yet another reminder of the dangers faced by our state’s public safety officers day in and day out as they work to keep our families and our communities safe.


“We stand ready with Governor Hassan and our state’s law enforcement community to honor Officer Arkell’s service and memory in the days ahead while also looking towards healing for the residents of Brentwood and the State of New Hampshire in mourning following this tragedy.”


Rubens For US Senate - Statement on Fallen Brentwood Police Officer 

U.S. Senate candidate Jim Rubens issued the following statement on fallen Brentwood Police Officer Steve Arkell who lost his life in the line of duty after responding to a report of a domestic dispute: 

"Our hearts go out to Officer Arkell and his loved ones and our hopes and prayers for the second officer's speedy recovery.  Let's never forget that our first responders put their lives on the line to keep us safe."

"Stretch was a tireless advocate for conservative principles and a fierce defender of our Second Amendment rights. He was a caring individual who was beloved by Republican activists across New Hampshire because of his colorful and one-of-a-kind personality.
