Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas Endorses Boutin for State Senate

Manchester, NH – Sen. David Boutin announced today the endorsement of Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas, in his bid for re-election to the Senate District 16 seat which includes Manchester's Wards 1, 2, and 12, and the towns of Candia, Hooksett, Bow and Dunbarton.

“Since Sen. Boutin’s election to this seat in February, he has been a leader in protecting the interests of Manchester as well as all taxpayers. In this legislative session he has continuously fought against more taxes and fees, as well as downshifting of state costs to property taxpayers including Manchester. It was also through David’s hard work and determination, that Manchester received $125,000 in state funding to be used to dredge Livingston Pond in front of the dam. This will go a long way towards mitigating the potential of downstream flooding in the West Clarke Street neighborhood. This is the kind of leadership we need in the state Senate,” said Mayor Gatsas.

“I am honored to have the support of Mayor Gatsas and will continue to work with him to protect our Manchester constituents. I knocked on over 5000 doors in the special election earlier this year so that I could listen to people's concerns. I heard over and over again that people were tired of the overspending in Concord and wanted a state senator who would protect their pocketbooks. That is exactly what I have done in the Senate. I plan on knocking on even more doors during this campaign because we must restore our New Hampshire values of low taxes, less spending and smaller government,” said Boutin.

Senator David Boutin Announces His Bid For Re-Election and Finance Team

Concord, NH- State Senate District 16 State Senator David Boutin announced his intention to run for re-election today.  “Never has an election been so critical as the one we face this coming November.  Our New Hampshire values of low taxes and spending are in great jeopardy because of the Democrats “credit card” mentality- spend it now and worry about paying for it later.  I am running for re-election to fight to protect our values from further erosion by the Democrats in Concord,” said Boutin.

Senator Boutin also rolled out his campaign finance team which includes Susan Duprey, Tom Keane, Ben Gamache, Matt Barrett, Cindy Roberts, Ted Severance, Gus Fromuth, Bill Sirak, Alex Vailais and Ralph Demicco.  “I am very grateful to have the support of such a well-known and respected group of individuals and small business owners.  Their knowledge and talent will be extremely helpful in organizing a winning campaign for November,” said Boutin.

“Senator Boutin, can be counted on to cut profligate state spending, stop the relentless hikes in taxes and fees, shrink the skyrocketing deficit and stop the downshifting of state costs to property taxpayers,” said Bow Town Selectman Tom Keane.

“It is time that state government live within its means as our families do”, said Gus Fromuth.  “We have had to cut our spending, why can’t the state?”

Matt Barrett said, “Senator Boutin understands that our economy will not rebound and our unemployed will not get back to work until the legislature ends its confiscatory tax policies, like the LLC tax, and instead encourages businesses to grow and create jobs.”

NH GOP - Boutin for Senate!

Boutin for Senate: A real fiscal conservative

State Rep. Jeff Goley, D-Manchester, voted for the state budget that expanded the interest and dividends tax to partnerships and limited liability companies. He has echoed his party's talking points in saying that it simply closes a "loophole" in state tax law.

So it is extremely interesting that the New Hampshire Democratic Party sent a mailer last week to voters in Senate District 16, where Goley is running for state Senate in a special election proclaiming in huge letters that "Jeff Goley will lead the fight to reform the LLC tax."

Really? We asked Goley about that. He said his constituents asked him to press for reforms. We asked whether he supported the tax. He wouldn't answer the question.

Voters, don't be fooled by state Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley's tricks. There is only one opponent of the LLC tax in the race to replace Ted Gatsas as your state senator, and his name is David Boutin.

Boutin, a Republican representative from Hooksett, did what the Democratic Party pretends Goley did: He voted against the budget that contained the LLC tax. Boutin has a reputation as a real fiscal conservative, and there is no question that he would be a reliable vote in the Senate against wasteful spending and for responsible budgeting. He opposes tax hikes and hopes to cut taxes where he can, and unlike his opponent, he has the record to show it.

Senate District 16 covers Bow, Candia, Dunbarton, Hooksett and Manchester Wards 1, 2 and 12. On Feb. 16, vote for the only fiscal conservative in this race: David Boutin
