NH Council Churches Responds to Hate Crime

CONCORD, NH 09/19/2011 -

Yesterday, Pastor Manessee Ngendahayo and two other families were targeted by hate vandalism of their Concord, NH homes.

In response, the NH Council of Churches deplored this incident of racial intolerance.

Speaking for the Council, David Lamarre-Vincent said: "My heart grieves for Manessee Ngendahayo his family and the other families targeted by these outrageous acts.

Mr. Ngendahayo and the other victims of this vandalism know only too well what can happen to a nation  when hatred seizes control of hearts and minds. They have come to the United States to find safety and build new lives.

Their presence has been blessing for all of Concord and New Hampshire.

On behalf of the NH Council of Churches, I want to express our shock and dismay at these vicious acts of vandalism. Such actions cannot be tolerated in NH cities and towns. I urge those responsible for the hate messages to be held accountable. All new American Africans and other new immigrants must know that they are safe and secure in their new country and that people of goodwill repudiate the actions of vandals."

About the New Hampshire Council of Churches: The New Hampshire Council of Churches, 10 member denominations, works together for peace, for the poor, and for the care of the planet. Richard Viguerie and Brent Bozell:  Conservative support for the death penalty is waning
Richmond Times Dispatch - Lifelong conservatives and Tea Party supporters Richard Viguerie and L. Brent Bozell III write of their opposition to the death penalty and address Biblical and Lockean principles.   "We know our opinion is not held by all conservatives. Surely, however, there are many questions about the death penalty's accuracy, fairness, and financial efficiency that should be addressed," they argue in calling for conservatives to at least revisit their beliefs about the subject.

New Hampshire's Ovide Lamontagne on why Tea Party constitutional conservatives win even in losing primary races
American Thinker - Conservative New Hampshire GOP Senate candidate Ovide Lamontagne narrowly lost to establishment-backed candidate Kelly Ayotte. He describes the importance of constitutional conservatives running. Even when they don't win the primary, they shape the debate and force establishment candidates to move towards constitutional conservatism. Ovide isn't bitter or vindictive like so many "ruling class" politicians have acted upon being beaten by conservative challengers. He particularly censures self-interested "losers" Sen. Lisa Murkowski and Gov. Charlie Crist for their efforts to undermine the ultimate goal of saving our country.

Former NHDP Chair and DNC Committeewoman Kathy Sullivan Hosts a Press Conference Call to Ask NH Republican Candidates to Denounce Hateful Rhetoric

Concord - Today, former NHDP Chair and DNC Committeewoman Kathy Sullivan held a press conference call to discuss recent comments made by Republican Chairman John H. Sununu during an unscheduled call to NHPR's 'The Exchange.'

Chairman Sununu called into the program to say that the media acted irresponsibly in reporting that African American members of Congress - including John Lewis, a hero of the civil rights movement - were the subjects of racial slurs and for reporting that Rep. Emanuel Cleaver was spit upon.

On today's press conference call, Kathy Sullivan asked New Hampshire Republican candidates for high office if they agreed with Sununu or if they would denounce this hateful behavior.

"Sununu's reaction is inexplicable," said Sullivan. "Instead of condemning this type of outrageous behavior and making a strong statement that it does not represent the Republican Party, he decided instead to attack the media - and tried to deny that some of these events even took place."

"The real question is, where do the Republican candidates for office stand on this issue? Do Republican candidates like Johnny Stephen, Kelly Ayotte, Bill Binnie, Charlie Bass, Rich Ashooh, and others agree with the head of their party that acts of racism should not be reported?" Sullivan asked.

"This behavior is extremely damaging to political discourse in this country. We all need to stand up together -- Democrats and Republicans alike - and make it clear that racial slurs, threats of violence, and hateful rhetoric will not be tolerated," Sullivan continued.  "It's a cliché to say that there is more that unites us than divides us, but if all political parties don't strongly push back on this, then these kinds of episodes will continue to happen - poisoning the debate and dividing our country unnecessarily."

ALG Response to NBC Accusations on Politico: "We did our due diligence."

Carter Clews, Director of Communications, Americans for Limited Government

We at Americans for Limited Government are saddened that instead of helping us to get to the bottom of the hateful email that was indeed sent from NBC's server, and this can be verified, and was not tampered with, which can also be verified, that NBC President Steve Capus has instead chosen to circle the wagons and protect what is indefensible with hysterical, frantic accusations

This email has left a digital footprint that is undeniable.  We did our due diligence.  We have confirmed that it indeed came from NBC's server and Jane Stone's email address.

As before, we renew our offer that we made to both Ms. Stone and NBC President Capus over the phone today to get to the bottom of who sent this email from Ms. Stone's Blackberry email address.  That offer remains open, and we would like it very much if both Ms. Stone and NBC would issue an apology to both Americans for Limited Government, and Mr. Alex Rosenwald, who was the target of this hateful email.
