Concord - New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Jennifer Horn today called on Senator Jeanne Shaheen to apologize for repeatedly misleading New Hampshire voters on ObamaCare:

"Senator Jeanne Shaheen made blatantly false statements and personally misled her constituents into believing that they could keep their insurance policies under ObamaCare if they liked them. She needs to immediately admit that she was wrong and apologize for imposing this terrible law on New Hampshire families," said NHGOP Chairman Jennifer Horn. "Instead of standing up for New Hampshire, Senator Shaheen also voted in lock step with her liberal party leadership against common sense legislation that would have prevented the cancellation of millions of insurance policies. The Senator has proven that she lacks the courage and independent leadership that is required to stand up to her own party and protect New Hampshire from the devastating consequences of ObamaCare."

In an October 15, 2009 speech on the floor of the Senate, Shaheen dishonestly claimed "everyone will have the freedom to keep their health care plan if they like it," under ObamaCare (Video Here.)

In an August 2009 teletown hall, Shaheen misled a voter from Salem who asked her if he could keep his health insurance under ObamaCare.

"If you have health coverage that you like you can keep it," said Shaheen (Transcript Here.)

RNC Launches Shaheen Robocalls, Facebook Posts On ObamaCare Lie

Good morning, turns out Senator Shaheen also knew Americans weren’t going to keep their insurance after supporting a rule in 2010 that led to insurance cancellations. In response, the RNC has launched robocalls and targeted Facebook posts against Senator Shaheen and ten other Democrats urging their constituents to call and ask why they supported Obama’s lie.

CNN: Senate Democrats supported rule that led to insurance cancellations.

Senate Democrats voted unanimously three years ago to support the Obamacare rule that is largely responsible for some of the health insurance cancellation letters that are going out. In September 2010, Senate Republicans brought a resolution to the floor to block implementation of the grandfather rule, warning that it would result in canceled policies and violate President Barack Obama’s promise that people could keep their insurance if they liked it.

RNC Launches Robocalls, Facebook Posts On ObamaCare Lie
WASHINGTON – Today the Republican National Committee (RNC) is launching robocalls and targeted Facebook posts urging Americans to call their representatives and ask why they supported President Obama’s lie that people could keep their healthcare plans under ObamaCare.
The RNC is targeting eleven Democrats who support ObamaCare, including nine U.S. Senators who voted in 2010 to make it more difficult for Americans to keep their insurance. The effort includes Senators Mark Warner (VA), Mark Begich (AK), Dick Durbin (IL), Kay Hagan (NC), Mary Landrieu (LA), Jeff Merkley (OR), Mark Pryor (AR), Jeanne Shaheen (NH), and Mark Udall (CO), as well as Representatives Bruce Braley (IA) and Gary Peters (MI).
“We now know the President’s repeated promise that Americans could keep their insurance plans if they liked them was a blatant lie,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “In 2010 President Obama and the Democrats were warned about this very issue and deliberately chose to make it more difficult for Americans to keep their insurance. Americans should call their representatives and ask why they supported the ObamaCare lie.”

Read the sample robocall script below:

I’m calling from the RNC.  President Obama and the Democrats said you could keep your healthcare plan under ObamaCare. Now we know SENATOR SHAHEEN actually VOTED to make it more difficult. Call SENATOR SHAHEEN at (603) 750-3004 and ask why she lied. This call was paid for by the RNC (866) 279-8125.

ALG - 102 million insured with employer coverage could lose existing plans, Labor Dept. estimated in 2010

Nov. 1, 2013, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Nathan Mehrens today issued the following statement bringing attention to 2010 Labor Department estimates that as many as 69 percent of those with employer coverage would be forced onto new plans:

"In 2010, when the Labor Department issued its interim final rule on employer-based health insurance, it was estimated that as many as 69 percent of the 149 million employer-covered market — some 102 million people — would not be grandfathered in under Obamacare. They are being forced to switch plans right now, because of the burdensome regulations imposed by the health care law, yet again putting the lie to Obama's pledge that if we liked our plans, we could keep them.

"The Obama administration knew this was always a lie, and kept saying it anyway.

"This is not news. In August of 2010, Americans for Limited Government commented to the Department of Labor on its regulation that forced employers to switch plans, and alerted the national news media to what was happening. While some elected officials in D.C. chose to keep their heads in the sand, this knowledge of the certain destruction of employer health plans is one of the many reasons why Americans for Limited Government fought to defund or delay the implementation of this disastrous law.

"We welcome those politicians who have suddenly discovered this three-year-old regulation to the grim reality of the full impact of Obamacare, and urge them to stop its implementation by any legislative means necessary."

NRSC - Jeanne Shaheen Broke Her Promise

How Can Anyone Trust Jeanne Shaheen?

Democrats Admit They Knew People Would Not Be Able To Keep Their Plan Under ObamaCare

Not long ago, Democrat Jeanne Shaheen promised Granite Staters that ObamaCare, "will let people keep their doctor and their insurance plan if they like it".

That's just not true. News outlets note that "more than two million Americans have been told they cannot renew their current insurance policies -- more than triple the number of people said to be buying insurance under the new Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare."

Now, top Democratic Leaders in Washington admit that they actually knew middle class Americans would lose their coverage because of ObamaCare:

"House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer conceded to reporters today that Democrats knew people would not be able to keep their current health care plans under Obamacare and expressed qualified contrition for President Obama’s repeated vows to the contrary. We knew that there would be some policies that would not qualify and therefore people would be required to get more extensive coverage."

Jeanne Shaheen knew that Granite Staters would lose their healthcare, yet she continued to make false promises about ObamaCare to voters in New Hampshire.  Now families, workers, and women are just starting to realize  that they are unable to keep their doctors and their health care plans – despite President Obama and Jeanne Shaheen's repeated promises otherwise

"Jeanne Shaheen knew that many Granite Staters would lose their health care plans under ObamaCare, yet she continued to deceive them and promise otherwise. Now her broken promises are coming back to haunt her,"  said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen. "Folks in New Hampshire who have seen their health care costs skyrocket or have lost their health care plans know that Jeanne Shaheen simply can't be trusted to keep her word."

NRSC - They Broke Their Promise: ObamaCare Sticker Shock

Broken Health Care Promises
Hurt Granite Staters

Can Jeanne Shaheen Be Trusted Any Longer About Health Care?

Over the last three weeks Americans across the country have seen what an unmitigated disaster has been.  Many families, workers, and women are realizing that they are unable to keep their doctors and their health care plans – despite repeated promises otherwise. As a result, hundreds of thousands of Americans are now facing significantly higher premiums. That number is expected to rise considerably into the millions.

Just last night, NBC News reported that the "Obama Administration knew millions could not keep their health insurance" and that the administration "has known that for at least three years."  Yet, it wasn't until yesterday that the White House admitted for the first time that "it's true" some Americans will not be able to keep their health care plan under ObamaCare.

According to Kaiser Health News reporters Anna Gorman and Julie Appleby: "[T]he cancellation notices, which began arriving in August, have shocked many consumers in light of President Barack Obama’s promise that people could keep their plans if they liked them."

Now the White House is back with another promise, this time that the website will be fixed in the next 33 days. That means that Democrats like Jeanne Shaheen - who've repeatedly made false promises about ObamaCare - are now tied to the Administration's self-imposed deadline. Should these broken promises and failures not be addressed, Democrats like Shaheen will likely be forced to delay ObamaCare -  something they insisted would never happen just three weeks ago.  Why? They broke their promises.

Shaheen was less than honest when she claimed, “[ObamaCare would provide] more cost effective health care to all Americans.”  To the contrary, Granite Staters are suffering from sticker shock because of price increases.  A new analysis from the American Action Forum (AAF) finds that in New Hampshire premiums for healthy women will skyrocket, increasing by 169 percent or about $127 per month.

ObamaCare is Jeanne Shaheen's legacy. What does that mean? As a senior Democratic consultant with strong ties to the White House and Capitol Hill lamented to the National Journal:

"'Dem Party is F****d.' That was the subject line of an email sent to me Sunday by a senior Democratic consultant with strong ties to the White House and Capitol Hill. The body of the email contained a link to this Los Angeles Times story about Obamacare 'sticker shock'".

"Jeanne Shaheen wasn't honest about ObamaCare, and now her broken promises are coming back to haunt her,"  said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen. "Over the next 33 days, middle class sticker shock, families being dropped from their health plans, and bureaucratic dysfunction will continue to expose Jeanne Shaheen's broken promises about ObamaCare. Jeanne Shaheen will backpedal to save her political career, but Granite Staters know she can no longer be trusted to keep her word."
