NRSC - Held hostage

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is once again playing politics at the expense of the American people.

This time, he's using taxpayers and government employees as pawns in the Democrats' latest scheme to force Republicans to accept tax increases on job creators.

Barack Obama, Harry Reid and the rest of the Democrats have decided to hold the government funding bill hostage without Republicans agreeing to job killing tax increases -- potentially causing a government shutdown!

Their latest plan hopes to force Republicans to support a proposal backed by President Obama and Harry Reid.

Ultimately, they have failed to produce a budget in almost 1,000 days, but somehow they'll try and twist the truth in another attempt to convince the American people that Republicans are at fault.

Make no mistake, Republicans are committed to our core principles -- limited government and economic freedom. So, we'll fight any Democrat proposals that will further hinder our economic recovery.

But right now, the American people are still struggling. And, it's outrageous that Harry Reid, Barack Obama and the Democrats would play political games.

So please, help me send a clear message that you're fed up with these Washington games. Take a moment right now to send in an end-of-year contribution of $20, $50, $100 or more to help us reach our goal.

Democrats are engaged in exactly the type of failed leadership the American people reject. We need your help now to elect four more Republican Senators in 2012 to remove Harry Reid from power and stop these counterproductive games that inflict even further damage to our economy.

Sincerely,

Rob Jesmer
Executive Director

PS. There are only 17 days left in 2011. Please help us reach our fundraising goal of $250,000 before the end of year. We're well on our way but we need every Republican committed to ending the failed presidency of Barack Obama and replacing Harry Reid to make a contribution now to build our early campaign warchest.

Message from Chairman MacDonald

The NH GOP needs your support! We have three weeks to go before our campaign filing, and we want to show that we have a strong, energized and growing GOP here in New Hampshire. Can I count on your support of $100, $50 or $25 today? At the State Party in Concord, we’re working hard to ensure that we not only deliver our state for the presidential and gubernatorial nominees, but that we also maintain our majorities in the state legislature and we keep our GOP delegation in Congress.

Our Republican leaders are fighting to hold the line on spending, keep our taxes low and put people back to work. We came together during our historic victories in 2010, and we need to do the same now as we head into a critical 2012 election year. Click here to show your support by contributing $100, $50, $25 or $10 today.

Sincerely,

Wayne MacDonald, Chairman
N.H. Republican State Committee

Shaheen Only Member of Federal Delegation NOT Hosting Town Halls

Concord, N.H. -- With news that 7,600 Granite Staters will lose their Medicare benefits as a result of ObamaCare, it's no surprise that U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen is dodging voters across the state.  Contrary to every other member of the federal delegation, Shaheen has failed to host an in-person town hall.

“Voters deserve the chance to see and hear directly from their elected officials, and in our state they expect it,” said New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Wayne MacDonald.  “Now that seniors are beginning to see the cuts Shaheen made to Medicare, Granite Staters should have a chance to question her for helping this reckless plan become law.”

In this weekend's New Hampshire Union Leader, the paper's editorial page included this:

“Rule No. 1 when thinking about health insurance: never take Jeanne Shaheen's advice.  Last month 7,600 Granite Staters who use Medicare Advantage were informed that their coverage is being discontinued.  They are understandably upset.” (Editorial, New Hampshire Union Leader, 12/4/2011)

Latest Campaign Stump Offers more of the Same: Spending and Debt

Concord, NH -- New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Wayne MacDonald released the following statement in advance of the latest campaign stump pushed by the White House.  Today, Cory Booker, the Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, will be in the state to try and sell President Obama's second stimulus plan.

“It doesn't matter who the White House sends to New Hampshire to stump for votes and help muscle through another round of stimulus spending.  While the latest official to offer spin for President Obama is Cory Booker, the message is the same -- more spending and bigger government.  Just like me, Granite Staters are frustrated and angered by the amount of spending we've seen from this Administration, especially in light of our nation's national debt topping $15,000,000,000,000 recently.

“Instead of continuing this push for a second stimulus bill, President Obama and his allies should start to explain why they cut Medicare benefits for 7,600 seniors in New Hampshire.  The trouble is that Obama's White House is solely focused on its re-election campaign and doesn't care to talk about how the President's agenda has made matters worse.”

Take Action - Three ways to get involved!

Header

Step 1:

Tell President Obama to stop using taxpayer funds to benefit his political donors!
President Obama spent $535 million of taxpayer stimulus money to prop up Solyndra, a solar panel company run by his political campaign contributors. Even though Department of Energy and White House staffers warned that the company's business model would never work, the loan was rushed out the door anyway. Now that Solyndra has gone belly up, taxpayers are left holding the bill.

When government steps in to pick winners and losers based on politics, it opens the door to even more cronyism. As we've already seen with Solyndra, government betting taxpayer dollars on unproven technologies is a very bad deal. A restrained federal government that doesn't have taxpayer cash to spread around is essential to stopping the cronyism that's ruining our markets. Click here to view AFP's TV ad regarding Solyndra, and to sign the petition now!

Step 2:

Tell Congress to Cut Spending Now!
The federal government has a spending problem and everybody knows it. This year, the federal budget will run more than $1.5 trillion in deficit, and more than 40 percent of every dollar we spend is borrowed. Click here to take action now. Tell your legislators that it's time to Cut Spending Now!

Activist of the Month - Jonathan Okray

55123_Okray-Recall-Petition-1BWhen the City of Killeen, Texas, chose to give the fired City Manager a $750,000 golden parachute at the taxpayers' expense, Jonathan Okray was incensed. Okray - a 20-year Army veteran and Killeen resident - organized a citizen-driven effort to hold the city council accountable, which has lead to a recall election being called on five of the city council members.

Okray is AFP's Activist of the Month for standing up to outrageous government corruption. Thank you, Jonathan!

Gingrich For President - The Daily Newt 12/07

The Daily Newt

Hello Fellow Newtonians!

So, this past Sunday I came home from church to find a burst water-main at my house.  Having had that to occupy much of my attention for the past two days, it feels like an eternity since I've been able to sit down and write!  Many apologies, as I know you must sit riveted to your seats each morning waiting to see what Newt's up to in NH!

Well wait no longer, we've got some great news for you...

Newt will be coming back to New Hampshire this coming Monday, on the 12th!

Perhaps you've heard by now, but if not, Newt will be debating John Huntsman in another Lincoln-Douglas style debate at St. Anselm's College in Manchester, NH. We're inviting everyone to come and join us for a chance to meet Newt!
