U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta (R, NH -01) not endorsing in NH Presidential Primary

U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta Reserves Support for

GOP Presidential Nominee

Chooses to be “Ambassador for the New Hampshire Primary”;

says Granite Staters have strong options

(Manchester, NH – January 8, 2012)   Less than 48 hours before polls open in the First in the Nation presidential primary of the 2012 campaign, U.S. Representative Frank Guinta released the following statement:

“We have a strong field of solid candidates in Tuesday’s Republican presidential primary.  I have talked with all of them personally over the past six months and have followed their campaigns closely.  Each has unique qualifications, experience and visions for America’s future.  They also each share this: all of our candidates would be an improvement over the current administration.

“Every political official chooses his or her level of involvement and participation in the primary process.  Rather than work on behalf of one candidate or campaign, I have chosen to be an ambassador on behalf of the New Hampshire primary tradition itself.  Starting a year ago, I was actively involved in helping maintain its first in the nation status, and have urged all candidates to spend as much time as possible getting to know Granite State voters.

“I make this pledge today: whoever emerges as the Republican presidential nominee, I will be at their side this fall doing everything I can to help the GOP reclaim the White House in November.”

Gingrich Makes Commitment to New Hampshire's North Country and Veterans

At a town hall meeting with veterans at the Wright Museum yesterday, presidential candidate Newt Gingrich outlined his commitment to New Hampshire's north country and veterans.

1. As President of the United States he would only support a Northern Pass project if electrical lines were buried under ground along existing highways.
2. Re-open the Manchester hospital as a full service facility, not just an outpatient clinic.
3. Develop a clinic in the North Country which can be used by veterans to get most diagnostics and treatments accomplished.
4. Develop an effective program to allow veterans to use their local doctor and hospital if they prefer.

Watch Newt make his commitments here.

Huntsman for President - Gov. Ridge Responds to Chris Christie ’s Shameful Attack on Jon Huntsman ’s Service to America

Manchester, NH – Governor Tom Ridge released the following statement in response to Governor Christie’s attacks this evening on Jon Huntsman’s service as Ambassador to China:

"Shame on Governor Christie for repeating Mitt Romney's divisive line of attack on Governor Huntsman's decision to put country before politics.

"The responsibility to represent our country in the most important diplomatic position of the 21st century should be applauded -- not politicized.

"This type of divisive attack is exactly what the country is sick and tired of. We deserve better.

"Having served two different presidents as a soldier and a cabinet secretary, I understand firsthand the value of service to one's country, and that is just one of the many reasons I am proud to support Governor Huntsman."

Gov. Tom Ridge served as our nation’s first Secretary of Homeland Security. He was twice elected Governor of Pennsylvania and served 12 years in the U.S. House of Representatives. Gov. Ridge also served as an infantry staff sergeant in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star for Valor, the Combat Infantry Badge, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.
