What's causing the unfunded liability in the New Hampshire Retirement System?
We've provided in-depth coverage to New Hampshire's public pension crisis, a $3.7 billion unfunded liability that threatens state and local budgets and the secure retirement of New Hampshire's police, firemen, teachers, and public employees.  Now, Reasearch Associate Joshua Elliott-Traficante provides an unprecedented look inside that unfunded liability to determine which groups of public employees are putting the most pressure on the New Hampshire Retirement System.  He finds that funding gap for one group of workers is three times larger that for others.  Find out by reading the full report, State Pensions: The Unfunded Liability and What It Means.

Ashooh For Congress - ASHOOH LAUNCHES SECOND RADIO AD

(Manchester) Republican Congressional candidate Rich Ashooh released his second radio spot today.  The sixty-second advertisement entitled “Fix It” starts with the premise that Washington is broken. Then Ashooh, a businessman and fiscal conservative, lays out his plan to fight back including: repealing Obama Care, stopping tax increases, cutting wasteful spending, and getting government out of the way so businesses start hiring and we get the economy back on track. The ad buy is on radio stations all across the state’s First Congressional District.

Link for Spot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BEaWAG6IDY

Text of Spot:

Female VO:  Washington is broken.  They spend too much, borrow too much and tax too much.  But to fix Washington, we have to start by fixing Congress.

Ashooh: I’m Rich Ashooh and I’m running for Congress.  I’m a conservative Republican and a New Hampshire businessman. I’m also the father of five wonderful children and I think it’s wrong the way Washington is mortgaging our children’s future.  Since Carol Shea-Porter was elected the federal budget has nearly doubled and government has intruded into our lives – car companies, banks, student loans, and most disturbingly -- health care.  It’s time to fight back. We need to repeal Obama Care, stop tax increases, cut wasteful spending, and get government out of the way so businesses start hiring and we get the economy back on track. I’ll use my business experience to streamline government programs, end wasteful earmarks, and shrink the bloated bureaucracy.

Female VO:  Conservative Republican Rich Ashooh for Congress

Ashooh: I’m Rich Ashooh, I approve this message and I ask for your vote on September 14th.

Female VO:  This message was paid for by the Rich Ashooh Committee
