Recent Perry for President Endorsements

From Pawlenty to Perry – Cliff Hurst Endorses Governor Perry for President

Former Pawlenty 2012 Co-Chair and Steering Committee member, Cliff Hurst, announced his support for Governor Rick Perry’s presidential bid today.

“Rick Perry has proven his fiscal conservatism and job creating mettle as the Governor of a state that is home to over 40% of the new jobs created in the entire country since 2009.  That says something to me—it says that he understands the enormous potential of the private sector to get America working again when government keeps spending low, reduces regulation and gets out of the way. I signed on with Governor Pawlenty early and gave my heart and soul to his campaign because I believe that a conservative governor with a proven record will have broad appeal, especially in New Hampshire.  I still 100% do.  That is why I am renewing my dedication to electing a republican to the Oval office in 2012 and that effort begins here and now with my support of Rick Perry for President.”

As a former state co-chair for Gov. Mike Huckabee’s 2008 presidential campaign and former three-term chairman of the Manchester Republican City Committee, Cliff brings an extensive republican network with him to the Perry campaign.

“Governor Perry’s economic record, his courage to tackle the tough challenges facing our nation and his genuine leadership style make him the only choice for me in the race for the GOP nomination.  I look forward to rolling up my sleeves to make Governor Perry our nominee and welcome my fellow former Tpaw supporters to join me in doing the same,” added Cliff.

Conservative GOP Leader and Businessman Sean Mahoney Endorses Rick Perry

Former New Hampshire Republican National Committeeman and congressional candidate Sean Mahoney endorsed Republican Presidential candidate Rick Perry today citing Perry’s excellent economic record as Governor of Texas and his proven ability to create a positive climate for job growth.

“When I talk to friends and neighbors across New Hampshire, they share my grave concern over the economic condition of our country and a desire to control the unnecessary and wasteful spending of the Obama Administration.   Rick Perry has proven that he can create an environment, through fair taxation and limited government interference that allows small business men and women to create jobs and prosperity,” said Sean.

Sean joins the growing list of granite state conservatives endorsing Governor Perry’s presidential effort including former U.S. Senator Gordon Humphrey, former Congressman and NH Supreme Court Justice Chuck Douglas, former GOP Gubernatorial nominee and Health and Human Services Commissioner John Stephen, Deputy Speaker of the House Pam Tucker and House Republican Majority Whip Pete Silva.

“As a small businessman, I know what it takes to create jobs, and so does Rick Perry.   Other candidates seemed to be focused on other issues but Rick Perry is laser focused on putting America back to work again.  At a perilous economic time for our country, Rick Perry is just what the country needs,” Sean added.

Sean Mahoney was a candidate for Congress (CD1) in 2010 and prior to that served as the Republican National Committeeman from New Hampshire.  A successful businessman, Sean is the former owner of Millyard Communications, Inc. of Manchester and former publisher of BusinessNH Magazine.

NHDP -In Case You Missed It: Ayotte and Mahoney Running "The Wrong Kind of Campaign"

Foster's editorial board says Ayotte and Mahoney are trying to sell voters snakeoil

Concord - This morning, Foster's Daily Democrat cautioned New Hampshire primary voters to be "very careful of" what Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate and House, Kelly Ayotte and Sean Mahoney, are selling.  Foster's editorial board pointed out that in addition to some other Republican candidates, both Ayotte and Mahoney have been "simply parroting the GOP's talking points," rather than "think(ing) for themselves."

Foster's continued highlighting problems with Ayotte and Mahoney's campaigns, adding that, "any candidate whose commercials simply say 'Repeal ObamaCare' is selling snake oil."  And concluding that by "sticking to a hard, shallow line," both candidates will be incapable of effectively representing New Hampshire in Washington D.C.

"Kelly Ayotte and Sean Mahoney's charge to right in lockstep with national GOP insiders has gone so far, that even conservative editorial boards are calling them out," said Harrell Kirstein, press secretary for the New Hampshire Democratic Party.  "But no matter how many times they repeat their misleading claims New Hampshire voters won't be fooled on September 14th."

This isn't the first time that Republican candidates have been warned not to take an insider approach.  Back in April, former New Hampshire Republican Party Chair Fergus Cullen warned the GOP candidates that sounding like "the candidate of the Washington establishment" was not going to be a successful strategy this year. (CQ Politics, 4/27/2010)

"The lack of momentum of Ayotte and Mahoney's campaigns is proof they should have taken Cullen's advice months ago," continued Kirstein.  "Instead of talking about the concerns of New Hampshire citizens, they have been parroting political attacks and partisan rhetoric fed to them by national Republican insiders."

Mahoney For Congress - "Cruel Summer" Video

Vice President Joe Biden will be in New Hampshire on Thursday to celebrate the “Recovery Summer.” As far as most Americans are concerned it’s really been more of a “Cruel Summer,” with high unemployment, outrageous deficits, crushing debt and record government spending.

The Sean Mahoney for Congress (NH-01) campaign has launched a new web video to greet Vice President Biden titled, “Cruel Summer,” which highlights the economic turmoil brought about by Democrat incumbent Rep. Carol Shea-Porter and the Obama administration.

DNC - Are Mahoney, Guinta, Ashooh & Bestani Drinking the Tea?

As Fringe Tea Party Caucus is Formed on Capitol Hill, Will 1st District Republicans Stand With or Stand Up To the Tea Party?

Washington, DC – National Republicans recently joined with the Tea Party and extreme right-wingers like Michele Bachmann (R-MN) to launch a Congressional “Tea Party Caucus.” Tea Party Republicans have advocated extreme policies that would take our country backward and are not what the American people want.  While Sean Mahoney, Frank Guinta, Richard Ashooh & Robert Bestani vie for their Party’s nomination in New Hampshire’s 1st district, will they embrace the Tea Party and pledge to join the Tea Party caucus if elected? And if not, why?

Please see below for a statement from DNC Regional Press Secretary, Michael Czin:

“As the Tea Party movement takes over the Republican Party, it’s important that Sean Mahoney, Frank Guinta, Richard Ashooh & Robert Bestani’s potential constituents know if they would vote with the Tea Party if elected. The question is simple – if elected, would Mahoney, Guinta, Ashooh & Bestani join the Tea Party caucus and if not, why?

“With the nomination of Sharron Angle, Marco Rubio and Rand Paul, to name a few, the constant advertising of the group by the right-wing media, the millions of dollars poured into the movement by right-wing leaders and the countless ultra conservative Members of Congress promoting their ideals, it’s clear that the Tea Party and the Republican Party are now one.  Do the 1st District’s Republicans Mahoney, Guinta, Ashooh & Bestani support the Tea Party’s radical agenda to repeal the Affordable Care Act, Privatize Social Security, end Medicare as it presently exists, extend Bush tax breaks for the wealth and big oil and implement policies to take us back to the same failed economic policies that caused the crisis, created record deficits and led to the loss of 8 million jobs? The residents of New Hampshire’s 1st District deserve to know – are the Republicans running to represent them Tea Party-Republicans? If they’re not, they should stand up to the Tea Party Republican bosses and disavow their radical agenda.”

Last week the DNC launched the “Republican Tea Party Contract On America,” a new Democratic Party strategy to highlight the real Republican agenda for America, to show how Republicans would move America backward and to lay out a clear choice for voters come November.  Republican Incumbents and those running for House seats are being asked not only to say if they would join the Tea Party Caucus in the House, a group that enjoys the support of Republican leaders like Pete Sessions of Texas and Mike Pence of Indiana, but to say what if any of the positions enumerated on the Republican Tea Party Contract on America they disagree with.  While Republican leaders have struggled for two years to develop their agenda for the upcoming elections, The Republican Tea Party Contract on America was developed by the DNC by simply making a list of the items that Republican leaders, their candidates and their Tea Party allies have said they intend to do if they regain control of Congress.

Throughout the month of August, concerned citizens will be asked to confront Republican incumbents and candidates for the House at events and through online tools like Twitter and Facebook, asking them to state definitively if they plan to join the House Tea Party Caucus and whether or not they agree with the Tea Party’s extreme positions.

The DNC’s Republican Tea Party Contract On America:

1. Repeal the Affordable Care Act (Health Insurance Reform)

2. Privatize Social Security or phase it out altogether

3. End Medicare as it presently exists

4. Extend the Bush tax breaks for the wealthy and big oil

5. Repeal Wall Street Reform

6. Protect those responsible for the oil spill and future environmental catastrophes

7. Abolish the Department of Education

8. Abolish the Department of Energy

9. Abolish the Environmental Protection Agency

10. Repeal the 17th Amendment

Ashooh For Congress - MAHONEY OUT OF TOUCH ON IMMIGRATION REFORM

Reiterates support for Amnesty, Licenses for Illegals

(Manchester) Businessman and First Congressional District Candidate Rich Ashooh issued the following statement in response to Sean Mahoney’s further comments on immigration reform in today’s New Hampshire Union Leader:

"Sean Mahoney’s comments continue to demonstrate that he could not be further from the mainstream on an issue that affects many aspects of our nation. Allowing millions to flaunt our immigration laws negatively impacts our economy, our national security, and our federal budget.

"Sean’s plan to find, register, release, and track the millions of individuals who are currently in the country illegally would create an immense burden on our law enforcement agencies while doing nothing to address the underlying problem that these people are in this country illegally. They must be sent home and then attempt to return legally as generations of immigrants have before them.

"Further, although Mahoney doesn’t want to admit it, we have not been able to prevent illegals from accessing social and medical services in this nation to date.  As long as they remain in the country illegally they will be a drain on our resources.

"Equally as frightening is Sean’s position that states should be permitted to grant drivers licenses to illegal immigrants. While licensing should remain under the purview of the individual states, we must recognize that these documents are the primary form of identification used in all fifty states. Giving illegal immigrants driver’s licenses will pose incredible national security risks for citizens of every state.

"Yes, enforcing our immigration laws will cost money.  But to Sean I would ask, what cost is too much to ensure our economic and national security?”
