MITT ROMNEY: FOR TOO MANY, LABOR DAY IS ANOTHER DAY OF WORRYING WHEN THE NEXT PAYCHECK WILL COME

Boston, MA – Mitt Romney today made the following statement on Labor Day:

“Labor Day is a chance to celebrate the strong American work ethic. But for far too many Americans, today is another day of worrying when their next paycheck will come. Over 23 million Americans are struggling for work and job creation has not returned to our economy the way it should. Even President Obama has said we aren’t better off today than we were four years ago. My plan for a stronger middle class will champion small businesses, create millions of good jobs, and build a better future for our country.”

YRNF - The battle is on!

Lisa Stickan, the Chairman of the Young Republican National Federation released the following statement:

Four years ago, Barack Obama made promises to younger voters to deliver "hope and change". Four years later, these same voters are faced with a job market where 53% of recent college graduates are unemployed or underemployed.

President Obama has completely failed our generation by driving us farther into debt while worsening our job market and economic opportunity with his big government mentality.

Meanwhile, the President has never stopped campaigning. According to the Washington Post, he has already had more first-term fundraisers than George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, and Jimmy Carter combined. This President would rather campaign, making more promises he will never fulfill, than govern our country and fight for average Americans.

Here in Ohio, we are fortunate to have brave, conservative leadership from Governor John Kasich, who has demonstrated that Republican leaders can deliver on their promises of delivering jobs and prosperity through a smaller, more responsive government.

Young Republicans in Ohio and across this country will fight every day to return our country to the path of economic prosperity for all Americans, especially our generation who President Obama has failed with broken promises and little hope.

31,000 fewer Americans employed in March than February, ALG Responds

April 6, 2012, Fairfax, VA--Americans for Limited Government President Bill Wilson issued the following statement on the just released March unemployment rate.

"Obama's U.S. Department of Labor loses more credibility every month as they announced a lower unemployment rate in March, while at the same time 31,000 fewer Americans actually had jobs than the previous month.  In spite of all the happy talk out of Obama's official Washington, D.C., the fact is that fewer Americans were working last month than the previous one.  That is not a recovery, it is an economic disaster for millions of families.

"The fact is, since Obama took office 4.683 million people have dropped out of the labor force. If they were included in today's unemployment report, the jobless rate would be 10.8 percent, and the underemployed rate 17 percent. All together 27.1 million Americans cannot find full-time work in the Obama economy."

Americans for Limited Government will be releasing an update of their article, "Understanding the Unemployment Rate" within the hour incorporating and providing analysis of the March unemployment data.

ALG - Obama labor dropouts make real unemployment rate 10.8 percent

March 9, 2012, Fairfax, VA—Americans for Limited Government President Bill Wilson responds to today's unemployment report:

"The monthly unemployment rate has become a meaningless statistic that no longer reflects the reality of America's economy or even the state of our nation's employment.  Shockingly, the stated rate of 8.3 percent does not include the 4.4 million Americans who have dropped out of the labor force since Obama became president.   When you include the dropouts, the real Obama unemployment rate is 10.8 percent."
