Gov. Gary Johnson Pledges to "Pick Up the Ron Paul Torch of Libertarian Ideas in August"

Former New Mexico Governor Leads Florida LP Straw Poll With 70% Of Vote

February 11, 2012, Orlando, FL -- Speaking in Orlando, FL, Saturday, former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson pledged to “pick up the Ron Paul torch of libertarian ideas in August.” Johnson was in Orlando to take part in the Florida State Libertarian Party Convention.   Johnson said, “There is a real hunger in America today for liberty and freedom -- freedom from government that is too large, too intrusive and far too costly.  The national Democrat Party doesn’t understand that hunger, and Republicans don’t know what to do about it.

“The Libertarian nominee for president will be on the ballot in all 50 states, and it is highly likely that, come August, that nominee will be the only real choice for millions of Americans who want us to not only bring an end to deficit spending, but an end to government trying to dictate our personal lives and choices.  Likewise, there must be a candidate in this presidential election who will speak out for an America that is sick of squandering trillions of dollars and losing too many lives in wars where our direct national interest is not clear.

“That is why I am running for president: To offer a voice and an alternative to the majority of Americans who simply aren’t  finding a comfortable home in either of the so-called major parties."

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Governor Johnson was the preferred choice of 70% of the Florida Libertarian Party Convention attendees who voted in a straw poll.

TheTeaParty.net - Was Ron Paul Right?

Dear Patriot,

TheTeaParty.netIn following the Presidential debates, I'm always surprised that one thing in particular doesn't come up more often: the Federal Reserve! The US Federal Reserve sets and runs US foreign policy with autonomy and is shrouded in secrecy. They've dolled out trillions in taxpayer dollars under so-called emergency lending and yet they refuse to disclose their transactions and operations!

Despite the fact that Ron Paul, one of the four remaining Republican Presidential candidates, has been a vocal advocate for auditing the Fed, this has not become a campaign issue! There's one thing we can do, however, to make sure that our elected officials know where we stand on the Federal Reserve: we can drastically increase the signatures on our Audit the Federal Reserve petition!

With our state-of-the-art petition system, you can send a letter to all of your elected representatives in Washington with one click of a button. If everyone who reads this email signs the petition, we will flood the halls of Congress with letters and demand that they audit the Federal Reserve!

Please sign the petition today! No organization should be given that much power AND secrecy!

Thank you,

Gov Johnson Campaign - A Funny Thing Happened Tuesday

THE DAILY CALLER

“…something funny happened Tuesday in New Hampshire. Ron Paul finished a very strong second in New Hampshire’s “open” primary with 23% of the vote. Perhaps even more significant, every exit poll shows that Dr. Paul was the winner among young voters, independents and other “non-traditional” Republican primary voters. In other words, he did pretty darn well among those same demographics who elected Barack Obama .”

--Governor Gary Johnson

Friends,

You may have seen the above quote in the past day or so – it’s getting some attention. And it should.

As I have told you, my motivation for seeking the Office of President is to provide a voice and a political “home” for millions of Americans who are looking at Barack Obama and at the field of likely Republican nominees – and not seeing the leadership this nation needs and is demanding.

On one hand, they see a President who has borrowed and printed our economy into disaster. On the other, they see a group of Republican candidates giving lip service to cutting spending, while trying to out-promise one another when it comes to using government to control our personal lives, whether it be deciding who has the right to get married, monitoring our cell phones and computers, or having Congress define our ‘values’.

If you are one of those who are not satisfied with the ‘mainstream’ choices, please show your support for a real alternative here.

What millions of Americans really want is a President who will cut the spending, stop the borrowing and printing, and get the government OUT of our lives and OUT of the business of making decisions for us. I am convinced those millions of Americans are the real majority in this country today.

As I said in my Daily Caller op-ed, in New Hampshire, that majority reared its head and gave the so-called mainstream candidates a run for their money.

In short, the real headline from New Hampshire this week is that enough young voters, independent voters and liberty-minded folks turned out to vote in a Republican primary to give Dr. Ron Paul 23% of the vote and shove several ‘business-as-usual’ candidates to the back of the bus to South Carolina and beyond.

That fact is a tremendous validation of our campaign and what we are about. The attention we are receiving – finally – from the media and political analysts is an admission that this is the year and ours is the campaign that can really turn the system on its head. And that is exactly what MUST happen.

I invite you to read my entire Daily Caller piece here: Daily Caller. And I invite you to show your continued support for real liberty and real economic freedom by making a contribution today that will insure that our march toward November can continue. Please go to I WANT TO HELP and make certain that YOUR voice and YOUR commitment to liberty are heard and felt in this presidential election.

Exciting things are happening. We are on the move. And with your help, we are going to make history!

Your friendship and support are the keys to our success, and as always, I deeply appreciate both.

Thanks,

Gary

Gov. Huntsman - The Ron Paul Blame Game

All-

The Ron Paul blame game continues. Whether it's his racist and conspiratorial newsletters, racist and conspiratorial book, or childish tweets, Ron Paul just won't take responsibility for his actions. How can voters trust Ron Paul, when he can't say with certitude what he has tweeted or written?

Take a look at this morning's interview with CNN regarding the unpresidential tweet he sent to Gov. Huntsman last night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=e4ZViL2DCpk

Add this to the "Ron Paul Chronicles", where everything is a conspiracy and nothing is his fault.

Former Gov Johnson NH Campaign Staffers Endorse Ron Paul

FORMER MEMBERS OF GARY JOHNSON’S NEW HAMPSHIRE CAMPAIGN STAFF ENDORSE RON PAUL, CITE “CLEAR AND COMPELLING DIFFERENCES” BETWEEN PAUL AND OTHER CANDIDATES

Dec. 30, 2012, Manchester, NH - All five former members of Gary Johnson’s New Hampshire campaign staff formally endorsed Ron Paul for president today, releasing the following statement:

Like many political observers, we see clear and compelling differences between Congressman Ron Paul and the other candidates who will garner significant support in New Hampshire’s first-in-the-nation primary.

Some, such as Union-Leader publisher Joe McQuaid, feel that these differences, particularly in the arena of foreign policy, render Paul “truly dangerous” as a potential president (“Ron Paul is truly dangerous,” Dec. 29).

On the contrary, we believe there is much greater danger in perpetuating the status quo than in electing a president who will follow the Constitution and seek Congressional authorization before sending Americans to war.

We are pleased by the fact that so many American servicemen and women appear to agree with our view rather than McQuaid’s. This is evidenced by the fact that between January 1 and Sept. 30, 2011, Paul’s campaign received an amazing $113,739 in donations from active military.

By contrast, Mitt Romney received only $11,555 from active military during the same period, and Newt Gingrich, who has been endorsed by McQuaid and the Union-Leader, netted a paltry $1,275.

For this reason and many others, we proudly endorse Ron Paul for president.
