YRNF Statement on Black History Month

Chelsi PChelsi Henry at YRNF Convention Henry, the YRNF Outreach Chair, issued the following statement on Black History Month:

Often times, Black History Month is overlooked or dismissed for a variety of reasons. Some say that it promotes racial divides, and others point out the fact that it is the shortest month of the year. Though both of these points and many others can be argued, the truth is that these arguments are mere distractions from the significance of the month.

Black History Month is shared with Valentine’s Day. symbolic maybe? I would argue YES! If the Republican Party is going to lead and solve today’s issues, many that affect the African-American communities in the United States, there must be love and compassion through our actions and policies.

This is a month that we as Republicans are reminded of our commitment and history of boldly supporting and standing up for freedom and progress. The GOP has a longstanding commitment to these principles. Our Republican Party should continue to rededicate ourselves to expanding the party. We are the party that believes in the advancement of all, no matter your current social economic status, family background, and education level, etc. We embrace American exceptionalism and should be bold in our message to all.

Celebrate with young Americans across the nation- retweet the facts we share, be bold and sharing why you are a Republican with others and how our principles promote the American dream. Reach out beyond your circle and share our conservative vision with your community.

If you have ideas on how we can continue to share the Republican message, please email me or call me. I am dedicated to improving outreach to young Americans.

YRNF - 147,000+ Voter Contacts and Counting: YRNF launches largest Deployment to Ohio

                            CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE

The Young Republican National Federation is making change happen across the country with 147,000+ voter contacts made and many more planned. We have so many reasons, like our families and careers, to stand and fight and YRs across the country are answering the call.

This weekend, the YRNF is going to stage the largest deployment in YRNF history. YRs from Illinois, Indiana, DC, Kentucky, New Jersey, and West Virginia will deploy into Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati to join the Ohio Young Republicans on the ground. The YRNF is pleased to partner with the Ohio Republican Party in this venture.

As a native Ohioan, I am please that the YRNF will have an impact in the ever important Buckeye State. Ohio is critical this November, and the YRs will hit the ground running to ensure victory for Governor Romney, Senate Candidate and Cleveland YR Josh Mandel and the GOP Team.

Ohio Young Republican Chairman Brian Wollet notes, "The road to the White House runs right through Ohio. We recognize that, and the size of our deployment reflects that too. This weekend we will have a tremendous amount of grass roots volunteer activity contacting voters."

Last weekend we deployed to Massachusetts and Maryland and the weekend before that we went to New York. Look at the pictures and read the stories from the campaign trail below.

Victory,

Lisa Stickan
Chairman
Young Republican National Federation

YRs on the ground in Massachusetts

It truly touches my heart to see Young Republicans willingly volunteer to spend their three day weekend on the ground knocking doors and making calls for Senator Brown.

Hitting 5,000 doors and making 14,000 phone calls only begins to tell the story of the determination to stand up and fight for jobs, a strong economy, and real leadership.  Senator Brown's reelection campaign is one of the most closely watched races in the country and control of the Senate could come down to Massachusetts.

I am very appreciative of all the volunteers from Massachusetts, Washington DC, and Virginia for their
truly invaluable efforts to help re-elect U.S. Senator Scott Brown this November.

Katie Regan, Chairman
Massachusetts Federation of Young Republicans

Special thanks to Steven Jackson(YRNF Campaign Chairman) and Jack Dusik (YRNF Secretary)

Texas YRs make 1,900 voter contacts

This past weekend 22 Young Republicans from across Texas came together to campaign for Congressman Quico Canseco, in one of the top 5 congressional races to watch in the country. With liberal interest groups pouring in money and manufacturing false claims against the congressman, Texas YR's deployed to knock on doors.

After a long day of work, the Young Republicans had knocked on 1,181 doors and made 750 phone calls.  Later that evening, Congressman Canseco joined the Texas YR's at a social event on the River Walk and thanked the YR's for their help and support.

This campaign deployment comes on top of important campaign volunteer work the Texas Young Republicans have been doing around the state - including block walks for State Representatives Sarah Davis, Kenneth Sheets, and David Pineda.

Young Republicans Make Over 6,200 Voter Contacts              in Maryland

Young Republicans in Maryland made over 6,200 voter contacts in Baltimore and Montgomery Counties this weekend.

The Maryland Young Republicans in conjunction with the D.C. Young Republicans knocked on doors and made phone calls in support of our Statewide Republican and Congressional Candidates in the 2nd and 6th Congressional Districts.

"We are very grateful that the D.C. Young Republicans came to Maryland and helped us fight for our state," Maryland Young Republicans Chairman Brian Griffiths said. "While so many of our fellow Republicans were campaigning in other states, they recognized the importance of being competitive and winning here in Maryland. The Maryland Young Republicans are proud to be fighting here in our home state, and we are thankful to have had the assistance of our friends from D.C."

The Maryland Young Republicans are the leading organization of Republican youth in the Old Line State. We are Maryland's officially chartered affiliate of the Young Republican National Federation. But we are so much more than that. Our clubs consist of active members of our communities. They are members of local central committees, active in community leadership, and running campaigns for office across Maryland.

YRNF Boots on the Ground in Massachusetts

It is a very exciting year to be a Young Republican in Massachusetts as we are in the national political spotlight with our former Governor Mitt Romney topping the Republican ticket and U.S. Senator Scott Brown in one of the most hotly contested senate races.

Over Columbus Day weekend,  the Massachusetts Young Republicans and the D.C. Young Republicans are teaming up for
U.S. Senator Scott Brown in a grassroots effort to reach out to voters across the Commonwealth.    This race will be won on the ground and Young Republicans are committed to carrying out an aggressive grassroots campaign.

In Janurary of 2010, Massachusetts shocked the country by sending Scott Brown to Washington as the 41st vote against Obamacare. It is important that the voters return Senator  Brown for a full six-year term.  During his three years inthe U.S. Senate, Senator Brown has distinguished himself as a fiscal conservative and strong supporter of our military.

National Democrats are targeting Senator Brown for defeat, and control of the U.S. Senate is in the balance. The race between Senator Scott Brown and Professor Elizabeth Warren is virtually tied, and the winner could become the decisive swing vote in the U.S. Senate for many critical votes.

YRNF - Take back our freedom in November!

Lisa Stickan, the Chairman of the Young Republican National Federation released the following statement:
Today, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court upheld ObamaCare under Congress's taxing power. Now it is clear to all Americans that President Obama has raised taxes on us, while also taking away our freedoms, raising the cost of health care, and burdening our states with impossible costs. The American people will not allow this to stand.

The Young Republican National Federation will lead the fight to reverse this legislation by electing Mitt Romney to the White House, electing a Republican Senate, and re-electing a Republican House. These leaders will enact common sense legislation to address our health care crisis by lowering costs while preserving our basic freedoms.

To all Republicans across this country, the response is clear: Take our freedom back in November!

Mayor Pat McCrory will be here!

CHARLOTTE, NC - Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Pat McCrory is joining Combat Charlotte on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Pat McCrory served as Mayor of Charlotte for seven terms, beginning in 1995, after serving on the City Council of Charlotte for three terms. Under his leadership Charlotte became an economic hub in transportation, banking, manufacturing, energy, and tourism. Pat successfully reduced the property tax rate as well as the city’s crime rate. In its endorsement of Pat McCrory for Governor, the Charlotte Observer wrote that Pat “kept city government clean and helped make Charlotte a place where people want to live, and one which has attracted thousands of newcomers.”

Combat Charlotte is a weekend gathering of the nation’s top leaders of the Young Republican National Federation on July 13 – 14, 2012 to meet and develop new ideas on how the Republican Party can engage young people. Folding this ever important demographic into the Republican Party’s Victory system will be a key focus, as well as successfully engaging and energizing Republican and Independent young people as “boots on the ground” into targeted areas that will impact North Carolina in the fall. In direct competition to the Democratic National Convention being held just a few weeks later, North Carolina’s place on the political center stage is historic.

Combat Charlotte is the spin-off of the recently cancelled YRPAC. YRPAC was unfortunately cancelled due to constraints beyond our control including a struggling job market and an unemployment rate unseen in our lifetimes (WHERE ARE ALL THE JOBS?).

Being true to their principles, the North Carolina Federation of Young Professional Republicans (NCFYPR) has scaled back and adjusted the focus of the meeting. Combat Charlotte will bring together the Young Republican National Federation (YRNF) Leadership, as well as numerous Young Republican activists, in a deployment style event, to partner with the RNC Victory grassroots plan to promote the Romney for President and McCrory for Governor campaigns. By doing so, the YRNF and the NCFYPR maintain their true commitment to Republican victory in November.
