Congressman Paul Kanjorski admits the democratic party "stretched the facts" regarding Iraq to win back congress. The video of his testimony can be found here.
"I'll tell you my impression. We really in this last election, when I say we...the Democrats, I think pushed it as far as we can to the end of the fleet, didn't say it, but we implied it. That if we won the Congressional elections, we could stop the war. Now anybody was a good student of Government would know that wasn't true. But you know, the temptation to want to win back the Congress, we sort of stretched the facts...and people ate it up."
Kind of makes you wonder what else they've "stretched the facts" about? Something tells me Carol Shea Porter's and Nancy Pelosi's promises to lower gas prices may have been likewise "stretched" a little.
As I always say proof is in the pudding... voting records not rhetoric is what people should base their votes on. Performance in office, not in front of the camera is what matters. What kind of record have Democrats racked up for themselves since taking over house and congress? What kind of record are we seeing here in NH with Democrats controlling all three branched?
Record spending. Budget deficits. Oil continuing to climb. The Iraq war continuing despite Democrats saying if they won in 2006 they would end it.
If ever there was proof that people need to do more then base their votes on 60 second sound bytes this is it. And if there were ever proof that we need to further educate voters so they aren't taken in by con jobs as Congressman Kanjorski openly admits they were this is it.
Folks, take the time to learn who it is you are really voting for.
