More Thoughts on 2nd Chances

Last week I wrote about the call Obama made regarding Vick being given another chance at his multi-million dollar career, which you can read HERE, now this week we see yet another story about a second chance with the homeless man found with the amazing radio voice.

When this was being discussed on a radio show this morning a caller made the connection between both stories and raised the theory that the media is going to continue to push 2nd chance stories in hoping of convincing people that Democrats deserve a 2nd chance after blowing the one they had since taking the majority of both houses in 2006 and the White House in 2008.

I wouldn't be surprised to see that the caller is right.  Obama and Democrats upset the voters in this country big time.  They campaigned against the wars and against Bush's out of control spending only to continue the wars and increase spending even more after gaining power.  The death toll in Afganistan has hit its highest since the war first began.  Of course since the Democrats still hold the majority of the Senate and control the White House the media isn't leading off every single night reminding everyone what the current death count is.

In 2010, NATO and its partner allies reported a total coalition death toll of at least 709, which is considerably higher than the 521 fatalities in 2009. But it is even more grim when compared to previous years, showing a rapidly increasing death toll as insurgents continue to bring heavy losses to international troops.

The darkest month of the war was perhaps in July, with around 90 fatalities in this month alone, making it the deadliest month for U.S. forces since the war began on October 7, 2001 in response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.

With news like that Democrats only chance to win in 2012 is to convince people they deserve a 2nd chance.  To do that I can see them continuing to feed you story after story about people like Vick who are given a 2nd chance and have performed quite well, or this homeless man who is being given another chance after sleeping on the side of the road in the bushes.
