Obama And Ayers
Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 11:22AM It is clear based on comments from some made on this very site that many Obama supporters are not actually aware of the true connections between Barack Obama and Bill Ayers.
One such example was a statement made by Jim Splaine, "...so the attacks on what Wiliam Ayers did when Obama was eight years...".
That statement makes it clear that Jim is not aware what the issue is. Obama isn't being attacked for something that happened when he was eight years old, he's being attacked for his own actions in 1995.
Let's start by first explaining who William Ayers is as I'm sure there are those who aren't even aware of that. William Ayers was one of the founders of the Weather Underground, also known as the Weathermen. Ayers and the Weathermen bombed a statue dedicated to riot police casualties in the 1886 Haymarket Riot in 1969. When the statue was rebuilt the Weathermen bombed it again in 1970. The Weather Underground also bombed the United States Capital, The Pentagon and the United States Department of State. In a 2001 interview with the New York Times William Ayers stated "I don't regret setting bombs" and "I feel we didn't do enough."
So here's a man who's actions lead to dead and injured police officers and his response is he doesn't regret the bombs and feels he didn't do enough.
Ironically William Ayers was also arrested once for protesting against the DNC.
So now you ask how does this tie back to Obama? Obama after all was only eight when one of the many bombings occurred, right?
That is true, Obama was born August 4th, 1961 so in 1969 when the memorial statue was blown up he was only eight years old. However in 1995 Obama was 34 years old. Obama choose William Ayers living room in 1995 as the setting to launch his political career. Years after William Ayers had become well known for his terrorist actions and at an age Obama should have known far better. It was in William Ayers own house that it was anounced that Alice Palmer would be stepping down from state Senate and that Barack Obama would be running as her successor. The two men had also spent time working together on the board of a Chicago Foundation. A mutual aquantence of the two men, Dr. Quentin Young describes them as "friends".
This is long after William Ayers bombed and murdered and long after Obama was an inocent 8 year old boy would wouldn't have known better.

This is falsehood. No civilian or police officer was ever injured or killed by Weather Underground bombs -- only Weather Underground personnel themselves in an accidental explosion. William Ayers has never been linked to anyone's injury or death.
This is easily fact-checked information, indicating the author of this post is either uninformed or has deliberately concocted untruths to to make a political point. I feel the Obama / Ayers association is fair game for discussion and even political assault, but lying about it is not.
Please, provide even one link to justify your statement about "dead and injured police officers."
"In a bombing that took place on February 16, 1970, a pipe bomb filled with heavy metal staples and lead bullet projectiles was set off on the ledge of a window at the Park Station of the San Francisco Police Department. In the blast, Brian V. McDonnell, a police sergeant, was fatally wounded while Robert Fogarty, another police officer, received severe wounds to his face and legs and was partially blinded.
While no group has ever claimed responsibility for the bombing, the Weathermen is one of two groups that was initially investigated for the murder. An investigation into the case was reopened in 1999 and a San Francisco grand jury looked into the incident, but no indictments followed, and no one has yet been charged with the crime.
Also there were civilians killed. Ayers own girl friend was blown up by a nail bomb the Weather Underground was working on that they had planned to use to blow up US Troops while they were on leave.
Ayers himself described his groups actions as and I quote him directly "Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that’s where it’s really at." Those are HIS words. In his book he admits that the bomb that blew up and killed his girlfriend was intended for Fort Dix to be used to kill as many of the soldiers and their dates as they could.
He was tried and convicted. The ONLY reason he was ever released in the first place was because they found the prosecutor used illegal surveillance. So he was released on a technicality (http://therealrevo.com/blog/?p=738).
And this is a man who Obama views as a friend and felt it was a good idea to start his political campaign in his living room. How anyone can look at the FACTS surrounding this man and not question Obama and his connections as a result is beyond me.
Thanks for this information. Ayers is just one more anti-American/communist/subversive/criminal/scumbag that Obama has surrounded himself with over the years. His associations are a laundry list of characters like this. But does it matter to Americans? Yes, it should. But I fear that for too many, all they want is "change" and change ye shall have when the Bill Ayers/Rev. Wright/George Soros clan takes over. And take over they will. To overuse a phrase - make no mistake, this crowd is seeking to permanently change the way the US operates. This election may allow them to take control permanently. If you think these communists are going to simply occupy the office for 8 years and leave you are sadly mistaken. Once this infection is in place, it will not be removed. They will take advantage of the ongoing economic crisis to suspend more and more civil liberties. They will nationalize all major industries. They will silence talk radio. Then they will disarm the population and we will become a third world nation under authoritarian rule. You think this is not a plausible scenario? You would be wrong. This is what the Obama crowd seeks and with the dumbed down population ignoring these possibilities, they will have their prize. The American empire is rapidly coming to an end.

How can anyone read this and feel good about voting for Obama? My only guess is that Obama supporters are either ignorant of the facts or are in denial and refuse to accept them.
