When Does Obama Become Responsible?

At what point does Obama start to become responsible?  Here we are not 10 months into his presidency and things are not only not improving but getting worse and all we continue to hear from the left is finger pointing back to Bush.

Now mind you, the mortgage crisis and housing bubble were both being discussed in the late 1990s so the very worst Bush is to blame is failing to act when there were known problems but it's clear he didn't create the problem.

The blame game only goes so far though, when people begin losing their homes and economic problems continue to grow people no longer care who's responsible.  They just want results.

Enter Obama.  He promised hope and change and presented himself as the answer to all our problems.  He passed the largest spending increase in US history which he claimed would stimulate our country out of the recession and turn things around.  Here we are now 10 months after he took office and what results do we have to show for what he's done so far?

Foreclosures hit a record high with the worst 3 months of all time.

When the stimulus was presented to the public, team Obama released two sets of numbers along with it.  One showing how bad things would be if we did not pass the stimulus and one showing where we'd be if we did pass it.

His plan failed to provide the improvements he claimed we'd see.  In fact his plan failed to keep us where we'd be if we didn't pass it.  We are worse off now then what he claimed the worst case would be.  And now based on the report by CNN Money (Found HERE) we are hitting records for forecosures.

Despite concerted government-led and lender-supported efforts to prevent foreclosures, the number of filings hit a record high in the third quarter, according to a report issued Thursday.

...

The foreclosure crisis may not diminish anytime soon. "The fastest growing area is in the 180 days late-plus category, the most seriously delinquent borrowers," Sharga said. "It's going to be a lingering problem."

Plus, the RealtyTrac statistics may understate the depth of the foreclosure mess because lender and government actions have delayed many filings. As a result, some delinquencies have not been counted on the foreclosure tallies. That means the crisis may not end quickly.

In other words all Obama has done is swept things under the rug hopping new bubbles would form.  Folks, that's how we get into these problems in the first place.  That's how bubbles form.  Government artificially props up markets above and beyond where they should be and eventually as we're seeing now, those bubbles pop.  The problems we're seeing today were created by government.  More government will not solve them and we're seeing that now play out in real time.

The sooner we learn our lessen and the sooner we start demanding less government instead of more, the sooner things will begin to turn around for this country.

One side note to consider... do you honestly think that an administration that has not been able to deliver on fixing the true problems we have right now is the best group to put in charge of our health care?

Obama will never take responsibility and his minions will continue to believe in the power of his persona. Rick, America has been dumb downed for the past forty years so it really is not hard to understand why this is happening.

The best thing to do is to continue to oppose Obama at every opportunity.

Richard and Platy,

I completely concur with your posted statements. IMO, Obama is the real-life personification of the Manchurian Candidate. He has never run anything in his life, unless you count running for office, getting elected and then immediately starting to run for the next higher office.

The problem, as you well know, in speaking out against his policies, is that you are immediately set upon by the liberal wolf pack, and labeled a racist, and/or other things.

As conservatives, we need to come together, and speak at the ballot box next year, getting rid of such people as Lynch, Hodes and the Hyphen, and if allowed by law, recall and dismiss Shaeen also.

Hilarious! The three horsemen of the apocalypse whine about responsibility!!!????

Do you dunderheads remember your last president? The one who devastated the US economy for 8 years?

Republicans love to blubber about personal responsibility - and never, ever take any themselves.

Liberals please consider facts.

These are Obama's own numbers. He is spending the country into destruction. Again, the numbers come from the WH!

Oh yes. Facts. That's Glenn Beck's discovery isn't it?

When is Glenn boy going to tell you how to put facts into an accurate historical context?

( That book wouldn't sell would it)

Chaz

Why do you bring up Glenn Beck? The issue of the post is, Obama's destruction of our economy and his unwillingness to take responsibility.

1. Unemployment has risen since he took office - FACT
2. Budget deficits, per OBama, will higher than in anytime during our history for the next ten years - FACT

You need to forget about TV people and look at facts.

The facts are causing Obama's popularity to sink to very low levels because other people see just how much harm he brings to the country.

OK-- I'll cut to the chase. You cherry pick facts to suit your rigid ideology.

That's how you and Richard "frame" things.

Sprinkling a few facts onto your narrative doesn't make it accurate.

Everything I've ever seen you write here, suffers from the same flaw.

FACT - Both the banking and housing problems were being discussed before Bush ever set foot in office.

FACT - I have NEVER defended Bush's spending record.

The best democrats can do is continue pointing blame on Bush. Chaz and Pinko, you two are demonstrating perfectly the whole point of my above article. With the government 100% under Democrat control we have record spending that dwarfs anything under Bush. We have unemployment problems continuing to grow worse.

Obama continues to claim he has the solutions but nothing is getting better. At what point do you guys take responsibility? At what point will things get better?

You can talk about Chery picking (which as I pointed out is used to put the blame on Bush for the banking and housing problems by Democrats since they ignore the fact that the problems existed BEFORE Bush took office) but your side continues to avoid responsibility.

Chaz,

As Mr. Barnes stated, the economy is under the domain of team Obama. In fact sir, the Democrats have controlled the legislative branch of the federal government since the 2006 election. They must be held accountable for growing unemployment, growing deficits and declining dollar. These are facts that you may choose to ignore but voters will not in 2010 and 2012.

Yep, Platy Dude and Barnsey are right! America sucks! Our economy is in the toilet, nobody has a job, and its all the fault of Obama! He's been in charge for 9 months already- how long do you think it takes to turn around a $13 trillion economy? If the GOP was in charge, we could cut taxes on the rich and they would buy stuff and everything would be totally awesome in about 3 weeks, maybe 4 at the most !

The guy who used to be the prezident whose name I can never remember (but it doesn't matter anyeway 'cause he was so 2008) should not, cannot and will not be held responsible.

You guys are so proving my point.

Ok let's say Bush is 100% responsible, despite the evidence I supplied in the article above showing otherwise. But if you can sleep better saying Bush cause it that fine, I'll say Bush is to blame with the whole republican party if you want even though Democrats controlled both houses under Bush since 2006. Ok, great we're past that now...

Now why have things not only failed to get better but grown worse? At what point can we said Obama and Democrats are failing to turn things around and are responsible for making a bad situation worse?

Democrats have controlled BOTH houses since 2006 and have now held the presidency for the past 10 months and this country is getting worse by the day. When does the buck finally stop and the party in power start showing results?

Obama is responsible for the feckless stimulus program and the large deficit. During the last year of Bush, the democrats would not pass a complete budget. Obama came in a passed the omnibus pork bill. The big deficit is on Obama.

Face it, Obama is a poor president.

Richard

Do you remember the debates we had about the low deficits and great economy that Clinton left to Bush.

Of course not--that's because Clinton ( a Democrat) was responsible. Though I presented fact after fact to support my argument you never once made the slightest gesture towards recognition. It didn't fit your narrative.

Bush wrecked just about everything he touched. Obama and the rest of us now have to fix a mess that will really take generations to straighten out.

Where's your perspective?
October 20, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterChaz Proulx
Chaz,

No one is defending Bush. However, Obama has made a bad situation worse.

1. Since Obama took office unemployment up
2. Since Obama took office federal deficit up
3. Since Obama took office deaths in Afghanistan up
4. Since Obama took office home foreclosures up

Just admit, electing Obama was a mistake.

Chaz,
Clinton was able to pay down the national debt's interest (note: the nation debt continued to rise) because the republican congress and senate under him balanced the budget.

I broke out spending under each of our most recent presidents showing which parties controlled house and senate (which is where the budget originates.
http://www.nhinsider.com/richard-barnes/2009/7/21/national-debt-who-spends-the-most.html

Our discussion before was one of semantics, you continued to insist Clinton paid off the nation debt, which he didn't. With the republican house and senate he was able to pay down the interest but the nation debt continued to rise even in hist best year.

But what does that have to do with anything happening now? Even if you want to blame everything on Bush as you are (ignoring of course that Democrats controlled house and senate and hence the budget since 2006), how long before Obama becomes responsible for anything? How many years will it take Obama and Democrats to fix Bush's mess? And why since Obama has taken office have the messes only grown?

It's a little convent if you ask me. Even with 9-11 our country continued to stay above water and improve. Unemployment stayed at record lows. The economy grew. And this was even while fighting 2 wars. It wasn't until around 2009 well after Democrats took over after the 2006 election that the employment rates started going up and the economy started to fall apart.

I've asked this before but never got an answer so perhaps you can answer... what exactly did Bush do and when that caused all the problems that really hit in 2008 and why with democrats in control of both houses under him did they do nothing to prevent it until now? And why do the problems continue to grow even worse now that they control all 3 branches?
