An End To Presidential Term Limits?

"How come liberals never admit that they're liberal? They've now come up with a new word called 'progressive,' which I thought was an insurance company but apparently it's a label." —Marco Rubio

Obstinate continuance in a particular course of action despite ongoing and continued opposition encapsulates the very definition of Persistence. Such is the case of Representative Jose Enrique Serrano, a DemocRAT , representing New York's 15th South Bronx District.

As Fox News Reports, Serrano proposes the constitutional amendment ending presidential term limits. The resolution dates back 15 years Serrano bringing it forth with each foray into public life.

I would be remiss if I neglected to mention that Señor Serrano is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. H.J. Res. 17 now goes to the House Judiciary Committee for its, "licks."

It is probably a fair characterization that with the re-election of Barack Obama, the social-progressives (Marxists, Socialists, Liberals, Communit-wits...all feathers on the same bird) now feel emboldened, heartened even, to push through big chunks of their progressive, oppressive agenda.

Remember when people would point and laugh, calling us paranoid when we insisted this country is headed in the direction of being a Marxist Socialist state? Yeah, those were the good old days, now weren't they?

Correct. We Men Have Nothing To Say About Reproductive Rights

“Ah, yes, divorce… from the Latin word meaning to rip out a man’s genitals through his wallet.”  —Robin Williams

On February 9, My associate Steve Mac Donald hits another home run with today’s entry. In the wake of the  Komen for the Cure Planned Parenthood funding controversy, Steve recaps for us what the die-hard blow-hardettes had to say. Steve writes,

“And we (men) were “reminded” of a few things.  Not only does funding “women’s health issues” continue to be successfully propagandized as the latest invented constitutional mandate (men don’t have the same mandate if you forgot), but the femi-nazis and their gargolyle familiars have taken the occasion to remind anyone with a penis that they have no say whatsoever in whether or not a woman should, could, can, or will have an abortion.  Men have no say.  Fathers have no say.  Just go away…”

Steve aptly points out that in the arena of so-called “Reproductive Rights” Men have no voice. Its a, “woman’s right to choose.” And choose they do!  If a woman chooses to have an abortion, there is nothing the sperm donor (man) can do to object, protest or otherwise stop said abortion. It is a, “woman’s right to choose.”  Conversely, if a callous, care-free wild-oats sowing man knocks up a woman, and insists she get an abortion, it is a “woman’s right to choose” to keep the child, raise it and saddle the care free man with a lion share of the costs to raise and provide for that child. The man has no say.

In all things reproductive, our culture has devolved to where a man has no role in those decisions. Yet, we as a society castigate those men who take up that yoke of non-accountability, calling them deadbeats and losers. It seems the “right to choose” has served to enable and cultivate that ugly aspect of our culture.

And in the Divorce arena, those social conventions have splashed over with disastrous consequences. There is the much-denied convention of “disposable dads.” Where the focus becomes exclusively the inter-marital problems,  the social and structural resources are available to simply throw away the dad and go and fetch a new one.

Now that we have had a couple of decades of imbalancing the sexes for some false notion of equity, an extensive body of work showcases those net results.

Divorced Dads: Shattering the Myths, was first published in 1998, by Arizona State University Professor Dr. Sanford Braver and Diane O’Connell. The work presents a compilation of research on divorced fathers  Braver’s was the largest federally supported study of divorced fathers in history.

Six major conventional myths fell to Dr Braver’s research as outlined in Social AnalystRoger Gay’s analysis.

  1. Deadbeat dads: Divorced fathers pay 90 percent of the child support they have been ordered to pay. Fully employed divorced fathers pay all that is due. In addition, they pay visitation expenses. [Depending on the extent of the research providing the result, fathers (all fathers including never married) pay 70-80 percent of what they have been ordered to pay. The low end 70 percent relies on recipient surveys that do not account for money that is paid but withheld as repayment for welfare, and possible bias. In all cases, the primary cause of non-payment is that the person ordered to pay is unable to pay.]
  1. The No-Show Dad: The rate of contact between fathers and their children following divorce shows “paternal devotion and tenacity [that] is entirely at odds with the more popular image of the runaways, absentee, or disappearing dad.”
  2. Standards of Living: Women with children are, as a group, better off financially following divorce than men. That’s right, it’s not the other way around.
  3. Terms of Divorce: Far from being docile, easily manipulated victims of a male dominated divorce system, women have always fared well in negotiations and settlements. Men are far more likely to be the biggest losers in the process.
  4. Emotional Issues of Divorce: Women are happier after divorce than men. Given the results related to the other myths, this is likely to cause the least surprise. They have the children, they are better off financially, they drive better cars, their situation is less likely to interfere with new relationships and remarriage ….
  5. Who leaves the marriage … and why it matters: ” … women initiate the preponderance (63 – 75%) of modern divorces …” It matters because it vindicates the finding that men do less well then women after divorce, because the blame heaped on men for divorce should be addressed, and because the myth serves to further unlevel the playing field of domestic relations law and politics on which fathers are already disadvantaged.

Steve Mac Donald closes with,

The same women who demand responsibility when the mother “chooses” life,  are the ones who have created the culture before hand in which the fathers have no responsibility and no voice whatsoever.   And this has been going on for decades.  Do I now have to explain why you reap what you sow?

You feminazi’s should have been more mindful of what you asked of this society. A society that toiled, struggled and labored to give you the equality you sought…(and fully on your terms, I might add, disregarding  the larger societal need )  And now that you have achieved it you all are still sipping the “Haterade” and drinking the Kool-Aid and railing against those clad with phallus. You got what you want, now live with it and stop pestering us.

MAGGIE "THE MARXIST" IS RUNNING

"Ask anyone committed to Marxist analysis how many angels on the head of a pin, and you will be asked in return to never mind the angels, tell me who controls the production of pins." —Joan Didion

Defeated Democratic state Senator Maggie Hassan made it official today that she will be running for governor in 2012. In her usual hokum, Hassan touted the typical big government solution to prop up the economy. As reported in the Union Leader, Maggie the Marxist, "stressed the need to create jobs by "investing" in education and job training programs and by fostering a business climate that attracts innovative small businesses and new technologies." Translation: "investing" equals big-government spending and solutions...equals heavy taxation to raise such revenues. Such notions were brought with her as a carpet-bagging "massplant" to the Granite State.

The Union Leader reported that "Maggie the Marxist" pledged to be a fiscally responsible governor who would veto any sales or income tax and commit herself to a balanced state budget."  This is laughable given her extensive record as a State Senator.  My fellow Blogger Steve MacDonald absolutely nailed it on back October 5th when he wrote:

Hassan is a left wing, government first, spend then tax Democrat who wants socialized medicine, supports abortion from conception to birth (also here), and was more than willing to trample on opponents with the "Sullivan/Hassan Hates Speech (the left can't control) amendment." (also here, and here, ...)  She is also willing to lie about her opponents to get re-elected.

In her press conference Hassan called House Speaker William O'Brien, and Ovide Lamontagne a“group of extremists” who have turned their backs on the state's citizens.

“Right now in Concord, Speaker O'Brien's Legislature has turned its back on the people of New Hampshire. It has embraced an ideologically-driven agenda that fails to create any opportunity for New Hampshire families,” Translation: They won't do the nanny-state agenda we set in motion.

Republican Party Chair Wayne MacDonald correctly pointed out Hassan's record penchants for supporting and proposing more than 80 tax and fee increases while in office.

And again to quote Steve MacDonald, "Hassan is a leftist trying to run to the center and her party, the press, and even a few establishment Republicans will likely support the Moderate Maggie narrative if they suspect that they'll have more influence with her in Concord than they would with a Republican in the Governors' office." That analysis cannot be any clearer.

OCCUPY WALL STREET FOR DUMMIES

"In hindsight it may even seem inevitable that a socialist society will starve when it runs out of capitalists."  —Larry Niven

How does one become an Occupy Wall Street Protestor? A quest for understanding in a somewhat complicated topic. Why? Because there are some who seem to demonstrate a modicum of intelligence and articulate usage of the language when the camera is rolling. And, there are some who dress reasonably normal (normal meaning, no obvious hygiene challenges, maintaining a groomed appearance). Those folks are in the vast minority. And certainly it would not be an accurate statement to say these slackers are all "youth generational." The camera has caught some old enough to be peers of my parents.

But the task at hand is an immediate one. How do I blend in? How do I become an OWS protestor. I suppose I should start with something superficial. Ah yes! you say, "Things aren't always as they appear." and how right one might be to make such a characterization. But any good leftist will tell you, honesty is a relative term. "Your views are your views."  Kind of akin to calling people racists because they don't like Obama... Yet, when it is pointed out that these same "racists" like Herman Cain, the argument shifts to, "you only like him because he gives your racism cover." Rank dishonesty is the domain of the left. And outward appearance is what we first see from our friends in the lame stream media.

As a segue into my OWS protestor journey, I neither shave nor shower for an extended period of time. (if I wish to wholly embrace this slacker look, I don't brush my teeth, either..If a casual observer spies a chive stuck in my teeth when I smile, I have arrived) It is important to engender that, "rail against the establishment" appearance. Smelling ones' own smell, is sufficient validation one has achieved parity with the OWS appearance.

To truly embrace the concept, I must purchase the utmost gaudy, kitschy articles of clothing from the local thrift store. A prerequisite for this neo-haberdashery might be faint odors of mothballs, cedar or musty fragrant odors. After all people need to experience overall discomfort with me in their quest to be, "tolerant".

I might be remiss if I didn't take up smoking. Nothing says "stick it to the man" like cigarette smoking. Perhaps I might even acquire a small bag of weed to make some fast friends. "A Friend with weed is a friend indeed," you know. [insert Bag O' Weed song from Family Guy]. Perhaps a pint of a libation? Drinking on public property also says, "Stick it to the Man." MD 2020...Boone's Farm? Nope! only the best! As I was wandering through Victory Park, I was startled to see a young lad parked in front of a tent with a couple of other lads, sporting a bottle of Glenfiddich 30. That kid probably stole it.

I cannot go to an OWS protest without signs. Need a Sharpie...No money, no problem just shoplift it. Otherwise, I requisition all the stuff for needed signs at the local college my mummy and daddy are paying for me to attend. Oh, and I need a drum, too. If the local kitschy junk stores are in short supply, I can steal that, too. I soldier on about the business of gathering the needed goods to attend this OWS shindig.

I am now packed and ready...I have my Blackberry....made by a greedy crooked corporation, financed by the crooks on Wall Street...I have my Coleman Tent, made by yet another big greedy corporation; The clothing I wear produced in either China or Indonesia, where I complain about how low wages are in comparison to U.S. Workers, without regard to standard of living; I've got a handy supply of cigarettes made by Big Greedy crooked Tobacco Companies that are on a mission to kill America's children; I've got my weed, its purchase having funded some drug lord somewhere who kills a lot of people to achieve market dominance; Finally a stop-off at Planned Parenthood for some free condoms. And please don't remind me about the greedy Institutions of higher learning with their arbitrary and unaccountable yearly tuition hikes; I simply do not want to hear it.

But what about food? well, nobody seems to have an answer for that. So I guess I am on my own and if I get hungry enough I can purchase a nice meal using my ATM Debit card issued by the, "Zionist Jew-controlled [sic] banks." Money on that card funded by none other than the "magic money færies." Wow! Capitalism sucks!

And speaking of the,  "Zionist Jew-controlled [sic] banks,"  I now need to practice an attitude of "tolerance..." absent of "bigotry and hate..." except for the evil, "Zionist Jew-controlled [sic] banks." No racism here, NOPE! Haters go home!

So why am I going? Why? because I want free stuff. I want a living minimum wage...about 20 bucks an hour...But If I don't like my job or don't want to work, then I want a Check. I like the way Germany does it. Government mandates for shorter work days, paid breaks funded vacations, "free" healthcare...housing, this list goes on. I want my student loans forgiven, if I am one from the lesser masses. I want the government to mail me a check when I am out of work. In fact, I don't even want to go to the mailbox...I want the postman to walk in my house and hand it to me while I am playing X-Box and eating Doritos. But I cannot do all of this without a villain. And that villain is the corporate fat cats on Wall Street and Corporate America and the stingy rich people who won't share their money.

My "retarded" conservative daddy says, "If we liquidated everything rich people owned and then sold all their assets and sacked their employees we would have their combine total net worth of 3 trillion dollars... an amount the current government requires annually for expenditures. So with that done, we could fully finance the US government for just one year." Naturally, for an effective OWS mindset, I need to say, "Daddy is full of crap." Class warfare....it's the only way to go.

All of this is well and good, but beating that drum hour after hour gets boring. So I am looking forward to getting drunk, laid, stoned and seeing what I can strategically sponge off others there.  Certainly, those with communal notions will share? Oh well, if not, I'll just steal. Stealing is okay as long as I am looking out for the greater good and I am part of that greater good. Note to Self: attempt getting into that cute hippy chick's pants...no, not that one, the other who with the little dog.

Finally, I wonder, "Who brings the toilet paper?" Nobody asks that, now do they? Just wondering. Perhaps the Unions will bring the paper.

SHORT BUS ECONOMICS

"Imagine a political system so radical as to promise to move more of the poorest 20% of the population into the richest 20% than remain in the poorest bracket within the decade? You don't need to imagine it. It's called the United States of America."  —Thomas Sowell

The collective voice of "Occupy Wall Street" has obtained a platform in the lame stream media with endless anti-capitalistic screed, along with various laundry lists of free stuff they demand the government give people. I am not even going to bother to list them because they have played out at such an ad nauseum level, it would be a waste of time and energy in this entry, given the epic number out there in blogger land.

But the overarching thesis seems to suggest the obvious: These people advocate for a whole bunch of free stuff provided by the government. In wanting their free stuff from the government, they fail to connect the dots between how government gets its money to give them their free stuff and where that money comes from.  And where does the government get its money? yes, you and me....the taxpayers...But don't waste your time arguing that point with these people...while they squat on public property being a messy, dirty, loud, inane and obnoxious nuisance, take heart in the fact that cold weather is coming and these leftist social slackers will soon, if not immediately return to the shelters from wence they came. Late note on Victory Park in Manchester...More tents than people.
