Correct. We Men Have Nothing To Say About Reproductive Rights

“Ah, yes, divorce… from the Latin word meaning to rip out a man’s genitals through his wallet.”  —Robin Williams

On February 9, My associate Steve Mac Donald hits another home run with today’s entry. In the wake of the  Komen for the Cure Planned Parenthood funding controversy, Steve recaps for us what the die-hard blow-hardettes had to say. Steve writes,

“And we (men) were “reminded” of a few things.  Not only does funding “women’s health issues” continue to be successfully propagandized as the latest invented constitutional mandate (men don’t have the same mandate if you forgot), but the femi-nazis and their gargolyle familiars have taken the occasion to remind anyone with a penis that they have no say whatsoever in whether or not a woman should, could, can, or will have an abortion.  Men have no say.  Fathers have no say.  Just go away…”

Steve aptly points out that in the arena of so-called “Reproductive Rights” Men have no voice. Its a, “woman’s right to choose.” And choose they do!  If a woman chooses to have an abortion, there is nothing the sperm donor (man) can do to object, protest or otherwise stop said abortion. It is a, “woman’s right to choose.”  Conversely, if a callous, care-free wild-oats sowing man knocks up a woman, and insists she get an abortion, it is a “woman’s right to choose” to keep the child, raise it and saddle the care free man with a lion share of the costs to raise and provide for that child. The man has no say.

In all things reproductive, our culture has devolved to where a man has no role in those decisions. Yet, we as a society castigate those men who take up that yoke of non-accountability, calling them deadbeats and losers. It seems the “right to choose” has served to enable and cultivate that ugly aspect of our culture.

And in the Divorce arena, those social conventions have splashed over with disastrous consequences. There is the much-denied convention of “disposable dads.” Where the focus becomes exclusively the inter-marital problems,  the social and structural resources are available to simply throw away the dad and go and fetch a new one.

Now that we have had a couple of decades of imbalancing the sexes for some false notion of equity, an extensive body of work showcases those net results.

Divorced Dads: Shattering the Myths, was first published in 1998, by Arizona State University Professor Dr. Sanford Braver and Diane O’Connell. The work presents a compilation of research on divorced fathers  Braver’s was the largest federally supported study of divorced fathers in history.

Six major conventional myths fell to Dr Braver’s research as outlined in Social AnalystRoger Gay’s analysis.

  1. Deadbeat dads: Divorced fathers pay 90 percent of the child support they have been ordered to pay. Fully employed divorced fathers pay all that is due. In addition, they pay visitation expenses. [Depending on the extent of the research providing the result, fathers (all fathers including never married) pay 70-80 percent of what they have been ordered to pay. The low end 70 percent relies on recipient surveys that do not account for money that is paid but withheld as repayment for welfare, and possible bias. In all cases, the primary cause of non-payment is that the person ordered to pay is unable to pay.]
  1. The No-Show Dad: The rate of contact between fathers and their children following divorce shows “paternal devotion and tenacity [that] is entirely at odds with the more popular image of the runaways, absentee, or disappearing dad.”
  2. Standards of Living: Women with children are, as a group, better off financially following divorce than men. That’s right, it’s not the other way around.
  3. Terms of Divorce: Far from being docile, easily manipulated victims of a male dominated divorce system, women have always fared well in negotiations and settlements. Men are far more likely to be the biggest losers in the process.
  4. Emotional Issues of Divorce: Women are happier after divorce than men. Given the results related to the other myths, this is likely to cause the least surprise. They have the children, they are better off financially, they drive better cars, their situation is less likely to interfere with new relationships and remarriage ….
  5. Who leaves the marriage … and why it matters: ” … women initiate the preponderance (63 – 75%) of modern divorces …” It matters because it vindicates the finding that men do less well then women after divorce, because the blame heaped on men for divorce should be addressed, and because the myth serves to further unlevel the playing field of domestic relations law and politics on which fathers are already disadvantaged.

Steve Mac Donald closes with,

The same women who demand responsibility when the mother “chooses” life,  are the ones who have created the culture before hand in which the fathers have no responsibility and no voice whatsoever.   And this has been going on for decades.  Do I now have to explain why you reap what you sow?

You feminazi’s should have been more mindful of what you asked of this society. A society that toiled, struggled and labored to give you the equality you sought…(and fully on your terms, I might add, disregarding  the larger societal need )  And now that you have achieved it you all are still sipping the “Haterade” and drinking the Kool-Aid and railing against those clad with phallus. You got what you want, now live with it and stop pestering us.

SUPPORTING ABORTION THROUGH ARBITRARY USE OF FEDERAL POWER

"The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it." ~Margaret Sanger, founder, Planned Parenthood

How corrupt is a private organization that will literally stop at nothing to get its own way? Such is the case with Planned Parenthood of New England. When PPNNE failed to prevail on the New Hampshire Executive Council, they lobbied other sources. But not private sources that nobody would have a problem with or otherwise object to, They lobbied a bunch of hacks in the Federal government.

So, the Obama Administration has unilaterally decided to directly fund Planned Parenthood clinics in the Granite state in direct response to the Executive Council's June vote.  And as expected Planned Parent, thereafter, acting as the proverbial spoiled child sent out their surrogates to demagogue, harass, decry and with all means, shout down the council vote.  Planned Parenthood pressed the council a re-vote on the matter all to no avail.

I have always maintained that Planned Parenthood, aside from being the rank abortionists they are, is...plainly put, a "corrupt organization." In an August of 2009 essay, I pointed out that Planned Parenthood has been asked multiple times to open its books. They have refused.

I also pointed out that IRS filings indicate revenues upwards of $1.1 billion in 2009, while a third of revenues came at taxpayer expense. Planned Parenthood National President Cecile Richards draws $385,000 salary in both pay and benefits.

When Planned Parenthood of Northern New England CEO Steve Trombley, with his $250,000 annual salary responded to the council vote,  Trombley implied that PPNNE may cut services as a result.

In a Union Leader report, Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said, "President Obama has proven time and again that he will do whatever it takes to ensure that Planned Parenthood continues to receive taxpayer subsidies, even if that means going around a state's elected representatives." Dannenfelser added "Obama is the most pro-abortion President in our country's history and his allegiance to Planned Parenthood is unwavering."

So the American taxpayer is validated in the notion that no matter what objection, there is nothing they can do to stop such corrupt organizations from fleecing us of our tax dollars.

Our Executive Council voted on funding of PPNNE, for better or worse. Now comes the Federal Government, having no problem to undermine that local action. This rank abuse of federal power encroachment onto the Granite State is shoving the funding down taxpayer throats. That aspect alone should be unacceptable.

Executive Council's Defunding of Planned Parenthood Is Sinister

"The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it." ~Margaret Sanger, founder, Planned Parenthood

Kate Lancor, former Moultonborough welfare director decries the Executive council's recent vote to defund Planned Parenthood. In her Union Leader Opposite Editorial entitled, Women need the services Planned Parenthood provides, Ms. Lancor characterizes the council vote as, "A pathetic lack of creative thinking in this [sic]country’s elected bodies that even allow such choices to be made."

While giving readers a thumbnail history of Planned Parenthood and extolling its "community virtues," Lancor admonishes, "Don’t politicize this, and make it an abortion issue, but rather a health care issue for millions of needy women. Buried underneath the portrayal of Planned Parenthood by lobbyists and politicians as trained abortionists lies years of providing family-planning education and much-needed affordable healthcare to millions of women and men."

Lancor nails the talking points flawlessly in stating that, "Planned Parenthood provides contraceptives; breast, cervical and testicular cancer screenings; pregnancy testing and counseling; testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases; comprehensive sexuality education, menopause treatments; vasectomies, tubal ligations and abortion."  Kate Lancor paints us a picture of a multi-faceted, healthcare-focused organization that is invaluable to communities.  Now who could possibly argue with that? Indeed, Ms. Lancor makes the case for its virtues. Ms. Lancor however overlooks the many problems with Planned Parenthood as an organization. So I'll take them up where Ms. Lancor has conveniently left off.

Planned Parenthood is a corrupt organization. Despite repeated requests, Planned Parenthood will not open its books. Planned Parenthood spent more than $1 Million dollars in the 2010 election cycle supporting their candidates.

Planned Parenthood has provided services to men characterized as traffickers in the sex trade. Planned Parenthood has been the defendant in lawsuits charging the organization covered up the rapes of under-aged girls. Finally, numerous media reports detail clinics that overbilled by millions.

IRS filings show Planned Parenthood's revenue was upwards of $1.1 billion in 2009, while a third of their revenues came at taxpayer expense. Yet,  Planned Parenthood National President Cecile Richards draws the princely sum of $385,000 in pay and benefits.

While Planned Parenthood's national execs receive hefty salaries, their local counterparts are also paid handsomely.  Steve Trombley, CEO of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England garners a $250,000 salary annually. The irony behind "fat-cat" Trombley is when the Council rendered the vote to defund, It was Trombley who implied that PPNNE may cut some services as a result of the vote.

So now, Ms. Lancor comes to us in a Union Leader op-ed and implies the defunding was all about anti-abortion and morality lobbyists seeking to deny poor women access to birth control. Needy women? Does Planned Parenthood really care about anybody who is needy?

For all Ms. Lancor's laudations of Planned Parenthood providing health care for women, PP does not offer comprehensive health care that other government funded clinics and doctors' provide. While other providers give care for the whole person, Planned Parenthood focuses exclusively on the reproductive organs, limiting such services to sex-related diseases, manual breast exams (not mammograms), and ending pregnancies.

Ms. Lancor and her fellow "Sangerites will likely continue to misdirect what culminated the defunding of PPNNE. Although at the end of the day they are no different than all of the other monied constituencies vying for the almighty tax payer buck.. Who will then vilify, demagogue and pander to us because they didn't get their cash cow subsidy. This defunding measure was never strictly about abortion, but it was about cutting off the funding to yet another corrupt organization who justifies their corrupt existence by pimping the desperate needs of the poor and the needy.
