Shoveling Snowe

Laying cover fire for RINO’s in the Senate, a Bloomberg article this morning touts the “Independent Streak” of Republican Olympia Snowe from the Peoples Republic of Maine (PRM). Snowe is on the Senate Finance committee set to vote on the future takeover of health care today. A vote in favor, it is posited, might provide the necessary force to knock other RINO’s like Susan Collins—also from the PRM—and Senator Voinovich from Ohio, off whatever fence they are purported to be sitting on. Even democrats, according to Bloomberg, could feel the weight lifted off their shoulders by an affirmative vote from Snowe.
That should sit well with their constituents. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been able to say, “you know I was against that, but now that the so and so Senator from State ‘X’—whose really just so dreamy and from a state that’s so totally better than mine (I can’t even believe I still live here)—voted to spend my tax dollars on “Y,” I hope my spineless Senator folds like the French too.
What it this High School with money?
There is not one person who seriously considers themselves a Republican—and certainly not a conservative—who would drop their moral or constitutional objections to the pillaging of Health Care by Liberal Progressive democrats based on the vote of a RINO like Olympia Snowe.
“I know, I know, it’s still loaded with back door provisions that provide public money to slaughter babies, and I’ve always said I’m against that, but look—Olympia Snow is good with it!”
Snowe wants to vote for it as badly as she wanted to vote for the stimulus. She's a big spending grow government first politician who is looking for any excuse to join the donkey herd and I can't understand why she's still pretending to be anything but.
You know the party leadership could go a long way toward regaining more credibility if it proceeded to toss her and anyone like her out of the party. It's not like you can count on them to support the platform.
You could start gradually at first. Let her know she can be as "independent" from the platform (and the constitution) as she likes, but that she'll have to be independent from all future national GOP party campaign money as well.
Let's see just how strong that "independent streak" really is.

Please consider what would be in Lewiston without her in office.
Answer: Not much. Poverty.
If you believe this is a fair representative the bill or its supporters, you are insane.
