CONCORD – Former New Hampshire Governor and Republican State Committee Chairman John H. Sununu released the following statement on Representative- Elect Lynne Blankenbeker’s victory in today’s recount:
“The recount is over and the results are final. Republican Lynne Blankenbeker has officially defeated former Mayor and newly-minted Democrat Jim MacKay in the Concord House special election. Let’s see how the New Hampshire Democrat Party tries to spin this humiliating defeat now.
“Lynne’s recount victory serves as a reminder for Governor Lynch and the radical leadership in the House and Senate that New Hampshire is fed up with the lack of fiscal discipline that has been displayed by the Democrats.”

If "Republican" means "we let you keep your wallet but we dictate what you can do with your body", then the (R) brancd will continue its long-term losing streak. Voter's don't like hypocrisy.
If, on the other hand, the (R) brand reflects the libertarian-leaning wing of the party, then they may really be on to something!
I was at the recount. It was nice to see a candidate campaigning on lower taxes and small government prevail over a "Mr. Concord" held every position in town candidate who switched parties from Republican to Democrat.
