A Right Is A Right Is A....

Women, according to a majority of liberals, many moderates, and most blue dog republicans, have a right to an abortion. They also (if we are to believe the broader context of liberals in the health care debate) have the right to pay for it with your money. Liberals demand that the federal government make taxpayer money available for abortions. If we don't, women will be denied their reproductive freedom. Every major left wing group and progressive worth a specula says it is so. So let's accept (for a moment) that government funding for abortion is a requirement to protect that right.
We'll avoid the moral arguments. We won’t talk about the fact that none of this is in the actual constitution. And let us ignore the fact that the womb bearer could probably still get state aid, or local aid, or scratch up some change from the back seat of the winter-beater she got herself knocked up in, or borrow money from her "favorite uncle," or lord help us simply find another way to pay for her own "mistakes." She could do it because even without federal aid, abortions just happen to be available within driving distance of just about everyone in America. So let us embrace their premise, and stick to the basics. Despite all that stuff I mentioned, Liberals insist abortion is a protected constitutional right and that without federal money reproductive choice can not possibly be guaranteed.
So my first question has got to be, where can I go to get a taxpayer funded firearm for my very own?
The right to keep and bear arms is a choice upheld by the Supreme Court. I clearly have a protected right to possess a firearm. I understand that no one is making me get one. I am free to choose not to have a firearm. But if for some reason I need one, and can't afford it, shouldn't I be able to(using the pro abortion justification) go down to the local Planned Parenthood and get one? I chose PP because they are already scoring millions in taxpayer cash, and are primed to get more. And making new brochures would be a snap.
Maybe they could also fulfill the "family planning" motto and offer marriages as well; rumor has it those are a right. They could even offer shotguns with a free marriage coupon, all paid for by taxpayers, and skip the abortion altogether. Then the newlyweds could go straight onto welfare--another right, and get loads of quality care from the government run health care system--also a right if I am not mistaken. And parents don't worry. Here in New Hampshire, your underage daughter is entitled to a taxpayer subsidized firearm without your consent the minute she drops her first egg. And thanks to all those growth hormones in the milk that could be any day now.

That said, I caught wind of some of the free staters here in NH pushing for a volunteer program to help purchase guns for people who do not have one and cannot afford one of their own. Just like Jessie Jackson called for a computer in every home they are calling for a gun in every home, and since it's necessary for a free state maybe government should fund the purchase for a gun in every home.
