Using Health Care to Ban Guns

I believe Government regulation of Health Care will be used to bypass second amendment rights, by making gun possession or ownership a regulated health hazard in America.

The dots are all lined up.  The Obama administration just needs to take their big old no. 2 pencil and connect them.

Dot number one.  The government is already prepared to control insurance companies.  The Senate bill provides the means to establish what will be covered and how much we will pay.   It will also empower the feds--through cabinet level agencies, Czars and Czarinas, and congressional oversight--to define risks and the increased costs associated with them.

Dot number two.  Recent studies are emerging to make a case for gun possession as a health risk.  Wayne La Pierre in the NRA's America's 1st Freedom (Jan 2010 issue) discusses a recent study by the National Institutes for Health (NIH) whose results are designed to spark intervention by congress and federal bureaucracies.  To do what?  To deal with the link they fabricated between gun possession and gun assault with the overreaching premise that all gun owners have greater health risks because they carry or possess guns, than people who do not.

But the study is rigged.  And we should expect it an others like it to get plenty of play in the sympathetic media who will gladly report on the "Public Health epidemic," the gun banners are trying to sell.

Dot number three.  This is not the first time health agencies have used their influence to direct legislative policy to deny citizens the right to keep and bear arms.  Democrats have tried it in the past and La Pierre points to Australia as the most recent example of its success abroad.  That effort had Soros dollars all over it, as do the left wing radicals currently working the levers here in America.

Dot number four.  The public option plan would make federal intervention against health risks the ideal back-door gun ban strategy because of the direct tax payer dollars involved, but the current plan will do for now.  They will use the same kinds of strategies Henry Waxman used against CEO's of health care companies last August.  Waxman asked for detailed information on their salary and compensation packages just when the Health Care debate was heating up, and about the same time the government was already leaning on one insurer who wrote letters to their customers warning them about the potential risks to their polices based on the legislation in play.

Democrats have and will use government power as an implicit or explicit threat against objectors regardless of constitutional protections to speech.   So to argue they would not also try to do it with the second amendment is absurd.   Federal power will be brought to bear.

So given the controlling factors inherent in federal oversight, the desire of liberal elites to insist they know what is best for us (and to use government power to make it a reality), democrats infectious habit of hiding their true intentions, and the obvious corruption of ongoing pay to play politics and backroom deal making, our elected officials seem more than willing to affect their idea of 'Meaningful Change', by "bending the cost curve" upward on insurance policies  for gun owners under the umbrella of some phantom "public health risk" to affect private ownership.

The ongoing Health Care takeover will empower the government to mediate every aspect of our lives.  But it also gives them a back door to regulate second amendment rights as well.  They are just waiting to connect the dots.

After health care and energy, there is not much left these nazis can't control. Let's face it, we're doomed.
