Workers Beware

The lite version of the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA or Card Check) still includes the 120 day collective bargaining provision, a federal power which will destroy worker rights, and the government and the unions know it.

As government gets back into bed with corporate socialist businessman who are willing to deal on any terms which result in their dominance in their industry "Big Government's" interest will begin to take precedent over the employee'sand the unions.  Corporate socialism always reduces competition making jobs scarce, funneling the bulk of labor power toward government control.  But that's hardly the biggest threat.   The death knell comes when this administration, or perhaps some future one deploys a department of labor (DOL) whose aims do not favor the interests of bargaining units over giant government/employer interests.  One that could co-ordinate protracted contract negotiations that bring the DOL in to mediate.  The DOL can then force contracts on employees that are less favorable than those they might barter on their own with companies free from government or union intrusion.  Contracts that favor governments means of production over that of the workers.

And with the unlimited power to do so, thanks to democrats, the only way to seek restitution will be the massive countrywide strikes we see in Europe, which temporarily cripple the economy and everyone in it, but rarely result in better terms for workers, and trap the nation in permanent stagnation.

And what of the voices of the working man, the Union leadership? They are as likely to get into bed with the government and the employers--if it will keep them in power--at the expense of those whose interests they abused to keep them there.

EFCA has nothing to do with workers rights.  It entrenches a trivium of power brokers willing to make meal from the bones of working Americans with which to make their bread.  And as long as they can live comfortably at our expense, they really don't care what happens to us.  As long as we go back to work.

Sorry to post out of place but I thought y'all would like to know: I posted a sarcastic comment on Dave Jarvis' Brazilian real estate scam piece. The comment has gone bye-bye.

It just happened again. Somebody else this time.

No wonder he's so big on Obama's fiscal policies. He's admiring a fellow con artist.

So Dave deletes comments. That's a story in itself. Maybe better than this one.

Rowland, and whomever. If your browser allows it do a page capture after you post and save them. Then if he deletes the comments do a second one and we play one of these things in not like the other.
