That's Just How These Progressives Are Wired
Monday, January 11, 2010 at 07:21AM It’s Mo Baxley syndrome all over again, and as usual the entirety of the democrat party has not yet come out to apologize for Harry Reid’s pseudo-racist comments. In fact, they are all defending him. Doesn’t that make them party to the obvious injustice portrayed by Senator Reid? Are they not validating this racism by not speaking out against it?
No Trent Lott like frog marching down the capitol steps, head hung in shame?
So the democrat party, including the New Hampshire Chair, don’t even have an obligation to “Denounce this,” to use Ms. Baxley’s own words?
I guess not. Show of hands; who is surprised by this?
Well let’s be fair. Maybe he said it with some sort of “naturalistic” indifference. Maybe he wasn’t being a low-down closet racist after all.
We now return to Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom, already in progress.
HARRY: “If you look carefully, you can still see Jim finishing up his observations of Mr. Obama from the Blind, Jim?”
JIM: “Yes Harry. It’s absolutely flawless. He’s got the press eating out of his hands. And he appears to be able to shift back and forth from his Negro accent, to his non -Negro accent, without missing a beat, depending on whom he is speaking to.”
HARRY: “Well there you have it. A light skinned, African American, with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one. Back to you Marlin.”
Not even sure why he bothered to apologize.
So Mr. Obama is OK with it. Why wouldn’t he be? He's a hypocrite like the rest. Plus it gives him something on old Harry. And as long as Reid is a democrat helping the president advance his agenda—ignoring Senate rules, buying off members, hiding the process, and asking for late night votes on frameworks and not actual bills anyone can read; it’s all just a misunderstanding. No need to treat him like some hate-mongering racist. Obama is above all that anyway, right.
So I’m excited for the democrats. You gotta love any opportunity to view the double standard again. It gives us a sense of scope. You need that in an election year, because only then, to paraphrase Mr. Obama, can we, “…reform bad habits and do our business in the light of day -- because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government."
Oh. You’ll have to excuse me. I love that part of the inaugural address. Tear up every damn time I read it.

Ah well, we'll just have to wait for the elections to do that I guess.
