If A Tree Falls...

If a tree falls in the forrest, and no one is there to hear it, does it make any sound?  Or perhaps in this instance, if a lifeless shrub dries up and blows away does anyone really care?

Air America Media Ceases Operations. In a memo to staff sent shortly after 4:30 pm ET on Thursday, January 21, Air America Media chairman Charlie Kireker announced the company would cease live programming as of 6:00 pm ET and would cease operations entirely on Monday, January 25. “It is with the greatest regret, on behalf of our Board, that we must announce that Air America Media is ceasing its live programming operations as of this afternoon and that the company will file soon under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code to carry out an orderly winding-down of the business.

It has been a very good week for free markets and free speech.  Air Amerika has been allowed to fail--because no one wanted to hear what they had to say so no one was willing to advertise and finance their wreckless hate speech. (as immune from the Matthew Shepherd Pentagon Funding Hate Crimes Bill as Herr Olbermann).  And...the supreme court dealt a body blow to McCain Feingold, which prohibited political speech--the very thing that the first amendment was meant to protect.

Liberals are pissed.  They look like hypocrits.

It's been a very good week.

Gee Steve - if a writer waxes on about a "lifeless shrub" does that mean he really found Air America to somehow be a threat? If AA was of so little consequence, surely it's not worth your bandwidth.

Oh, and hypocrites is spelled with an e. If you're going to attempt to be snarky and cutting, do try to spell properly.

Air Amerika's only threat was to liberal hypocrites who insisted they were above hate speech.

Of course now that it's gone what ever shall you all do with the free time? Write hypocritical screeds about how you're the party of fairness and equality?
