Health Dare

So we’re down to this.  Do you dare vote for the trash barrel bill that is pretending to be health Care reform?  Can you countenance your constitutional obligation to defend your constituents from the government by voting for something that Speaker Pelosi declares we cannot begin to know the details of until after the vote is already cast?

Whatever your position on the need for cost containment, insurance or industry reform, or who should manage that process and how, if you do not have a problem with your legislator casting a vote for a bill (any bill) that does not entirely exist, or whose funding is based on the kind of schemes and assumptions as this one, there is something wrong with you.  If you are willing to let this slide, nothing you have ever said about government, or the motives of the people in it, can be taken seriously because you are no longer operating independent of the process.  You are the process, and flawed right along with it.

You are a danger to yourself, your family, your community, your country, and to the idea of liberty.  If you allow government to do this kind of work, on these terms, when it appears to advance your agenda, you will have forever excluded yourself from future debate when policies you do not care for are advanced based on the precedent you will have set.

No matter what has transpired in the past, whatever perceived ill your government may have done you if we do not stop our representatives from voting on things that they have not only not read, but can’t—because they are voting on the idea and not the actual text—America is dead, and any hope of liberty with it.
