Ten Words

Congressional district one residents will have been treated to another spiffy looking, tri-fold, heavy card stock, multi-colored mailer from Carol Shea-Porter.  I'll get to the content later.  For now I would like to take a moment to share ten words from the back of the mailer.

"This mailing was prepared, published and mailed at taxpayer expense."

Our Congresswoman is using the franking privilege, which goes back to before the start of this country and is used by every member of the House and Senate, to communicate with her constituents? Holy cow!!! This is an outrageous outrage!

So now you're a status quo anonymous poster? Feeling good about wasting taxpayer money with a massive looming deficit and 10% unemployment. Fine. I'll remember that.

You know a finely worded letter on regular paper would have sufficed instead of spending $xx,xxxx.xx more dollars to market herself to us like she's frikkin Amway.

The franking privilege was originally intended to pay for postal costs of mailings, NOT campaigning at taxpayer expense.
