The Sound Of Two Hands Clapping

If you were not clear about just how wretched the lot of left wing America haters on Capitol Hill are, the Vodka is not going to get any clearer.  These dirt bags applauded the Mexican president while he tore their country down.  They were happy to hear a foreign dignitary from a two-bit third world dumpster take cheap shots at us.  And they rewarded him with their praise and adulation.

It is the sound of two hands clapping, the siren song for the democrat majority in congress.  As if we needed another one.

Why Liberals Really Hate Arizona

The lefts spleen venting on Arizona’s new law regarding illegal immigration makes perfect sense. Arizona, a sovereign state of the union, has for years (decades) left most of the problems associated with a porous border in the hands of the federal government.  Some of those problems included drug trafficking, people trafficking, other criminal activates from the violation of property rights all the way up to murder (not to mention the whole illegal part of illegal immigration) are costing Arizona lives, resources, and business.  It’s gotten so bad that Phoenix is reportedly second only to Mexico City internationally for kidnapping and murder.

Forget party affiliation. I think it is clear that the federal government has dropped the ball here.  They have failed miserably to protect the people of the State of Arizona from threats foreign and domestic.  And this is where the liberal mind set—and the most recent overreaction from the left to the new legislation--demonstrates a deeper understanding of the secular-socialist liberal ideology and why it is so dangerous.

Arizona is acting in self defense because the same federal government that the democrats insist must be the best, first, and last resource for our individual and mutual protection is either unable or unwilling to defend them.  These are the same people who want you to be sued for defending yourself against an attacker inside your own home.  They want to ban personal possession of firearms, on the premise that the State (the federal government) is more than capable of managing your security needs.  But they are not and anyone who is not drunk with blue Kool aid knows it.  Just look at Arizona.

Arizona is just trying to defend itself where the federal government has failed.   It is defending property rights.  It is defending tax payer dollars.  It is trying to establish justice, domestic tranquility, and to provide for its own common defense, to promote the general welfare of everyone within its borders regardless of their country of origin or immigration status, because they are all suffering (or stand to suffer) from the escalating deterioration of the law and order that has gone uncheked at the hands of the federal agenices employed in defense of that idea, many of whom have had their hands tied by the federal government, democrat activists, and the current administration.

Why?  Because liberals hate the idea of self defense even though they are incapable of guaranteeing it for you.

So Arizona must now investigate or question anyone suspected of being an illegal alien during the course of other daily activities, not because they are racists or xenophobes, but because there is no other course of action left them by the liberals and elites who refuse to act.  Arizona has anobligation to stop the kidnapping and killing, and the drug and human trafficking, and that the perpetrators are caught and prosecuted or persuaded to stay out of the state.  This benefits everyone there who is or intends to be a productive citizen.  And the immigrant community (legal or otherwise) has as much if not more to gain by outing the bad apples as anyone.

But the race baiters, and hand wringers who object to Arizona exercising its own right to self defense don't care.  And while they are seen as busy pandering to minorities the real motivation for their actions is their deep seeded objection to the basic human right of self defense.   It is who they are, and it is just another reason why they are dangerous to the safety and well being of us as individuals, the state of Arizona, and the Nation itself.

And amnesty, by the way, will neither resolve their distaste for self defense, nor will it end the violence.  But they'll never admit that either.

The Peoples Republic Of Hodesistan

In the People's Republic of Hodesistan (PRH) unemployment always hovers around 9-10%.  That's the new normal.  And it has to be.  No matter how many bail outs and prop ups and incentives Mr. Hodes conceives to redistribute your earnings, there is never enough of other peoples money.  As the tax dollar pool from which his false growth shrinks, the ability to prop up markets or industries becomes more difficult.   Sure, there are government jobs, but even those are limited by the abuse of natural resources (other peoples incomes) required to support them.  When the money runs out and no one is getting paid, you get national strikes and shutdowns sometimes violence and riots.  Not exactly a path to the shining city on a hill.  More like a burning hovel in a flooded ditch.

Debt is a huge problem in the PRH.  Without any incentive (other than corruption and patronage) to take risk because of heavy taxation on what is left of the upper class, and shackled with the tremendous bureaucratic burden created by the uncontrolled tumor of government, the number of wealth creators diminishes, forcing Mr Hodes to widen the tax base until he is taxing everyone often.  No one wants to invest there unless they are connected to someone in government who can make it worth their while.  This keeps unemployment high and prosperity at a minimum.  And there is only so much there to tax.  As the gap between the political class of wealthy connected or privileged grows the middle class is diminished to an upper-lower class living at the cusp between subsistence and squalor.  Everyone else is on a diminishing government subsidy (which must also be taxed), and can only supplement their income through acts of thuggery or thievery.

The declining cultural significance of living under the yoke of such "leadership" is demoralizing.  Pursuits of pleasure are few, and given the economic situation limited to sex and drugs which exacerbates the health burden on the government subsidized medical programs.  Fatherless children are in the majority as their unemployed mothers pursue what little pleasure is left in the world.  Bearing more children from new yet similar (and likely abusive) fathers makes them very briefly feel needed or wanted, but they are ill prepared for that responsibility.  The government--which is more than willing to play the role of parent and has taught generations to trust it with their children--gets what it paid for; single parents that not abandon their children to the state, or expect it to do the job they are themselves no longer capable of, leaving successive generations to a morally rudderless secular socialist system incapable of teaching even basic skills to the next generation.  It is a farm incapable of growing anything but welfare recipients.

In Hodesistan you are not allowed to defend yourself, so only criminals--of which there are always a growing number--have all the weapons.  What little you do have is tenuous as any number of thugs may feel inclined to deprive you of it at their convenience, (simply to better their own intractable nanny-state existence) so property rights no longer exist in a way necessary to a growing and healthy democracy.  Not that you really care.  Years of over-regulation into every aspect of your life has made you numb to the notion of personal rights of any kind.  The state manages your body, where you work, how you get there, what you can earn, and how much of that you can keep.  Choices are limited by regulation, and what you can buy is taxed further.  Quality is unimportant as your possessions have no real value--you could be denied them at any time by the government or some thug--neither being much discernable from the other.

All in all, the only thing you have to look forward to is someone else's misery being greater than your own, a dimishing state pension, and perhaps an early death to relieve the pathetic existence the state permits you.  But not to worry.  In Hodesistan, the state sanctions suicide.  And since most of its citizens are more of a burden than a benefit--though the state will never admit its complicity in that result--they are more than happy to get you off the dole if you can find and convince a disinterested government paid doctor to write you the proper prescription.

And don't begin to think you can object to any of this.  The only speech permitted is that sanctioned by the state which controls the money, the media, how candidates get their money, and diminshies objectors as racists, hate mongers. liars, and anti government agitators guitly of treason.

This is what it is like to live in Hodesistan.  Enjoy your stay.

From Day One

“Let me be clear” may be giving way to “From Day one.”  “From Day One” is the new backstop in the absence of physical evidence.  "From day one," the Obama administration was working behind the scenes on a response to the BP oil rig explosion.  You're damn right they were.

Day one began with the same meeting they have every time something happens; how can we blame Bush or Republicans, and if not them who?  No "national" response is possible until that narrative has been worked out, and a plan is in place to turn whatever it is into some political advantage, unless it fits an existing grievance narrative already in place like "racist!"   The Narrative seeps out, the media and the administration regurgitate it, add spin and stir.

And if you look over the short list of possibilities, Fort Hood, The Panty Bomber, Bonus announcements, Voter intimidation case involving Black Panthers, Tea Party protesters, Illegal immigrants rioting, things said by republicans, things said by democrats, scandals involving democrats, body counts, comments about clean black men, the difference in response time and the actions taken—or not--reveal their actual priorities.  It's not jobs or growth or cleaning up corruption or clean energy.  It's all politics, power and payback, all the time.

AIG bonuses—the ink isn’t even dry and the entire left side of the congress along with the White house is barfing class warfare rhetoric from every media orifice they can find about how they need to reign in big "whatever," new legislation already in hand.  An al Qaida trained terrorist tries to blow up a plane and is thwarted by passengers….need a week before we can even comment.

Of course we know why they need more time.  We've seen what happens when they are forced to comment on something before the ritual three day minimum.  They put their collectivist feet in their collective mouths.  They really have no clue what they are doing, especially when someone else craps on America before they can and they have no narrative in place.

But we know they can respond with speed when its about false outrage or grievance mongering. Congress can’t get details about the Fort Hood shooter because of White House obstruction and the media won;t touch it, but a Tea party guy spits when he talks and he’s a racist, every one near him is a racist, in fact the whole damn country is nothing but a bunch of gay bashing, hate filled, anti-government racists--30 seconds after it happens.  But for everything else--actual leadership is beyond them.  They need to have a meeting or form a committee to see how they 'feel' about it.

Which brings us to the BP oil rig.  ‘From Day One’ the Obama administration…has been trying to find someone to blame.  Unfortunately for them, BP and that very rig is reported to have passed three separate federal safety inspections since the beginning of 2009 and was in the running for a safety award to be given out this week.  (Not any more)   And it’s just too bad that BP is not an American company that Obama can just take over in the interest of the country.  (Was it Maxine Waters who let loose the truth--that democrats wanted to socialise the oil industry?  I think it was.)  And look, there are no Republicans to blame.  So all we have is Obama, Lisa Jackson, at EPA, and a week of doing nothing.  Wait.  There were Earth Day fesitivals to attend while the oil was polluting the sacred earth mothers lipid pools of life.  Dopes.

It is probably worth noting that the rig (and a company) with the exemplary safety record, blew as if in tribute to Earth Day just weeks after Obama’s “increase offshore oil production” rhetoric.   (Was it enviro-terrorism?) It’s also odd that the problem was left to develop until it was nearly unsolvable and destined to cause significant damage to the local coastline.  And is it surprising that more than a week into the spill, with no sign of action from EPA--your exhaled breath is a pollutant--we want to control your thermostat--we'll tell you what kind of energy you'll use and like it--enviro-fascist Lisa Jackson, that we are now confronted with a PR broadside on what they have "actually been doing" since day one.  It as if someone called Obama Hitler, or AIG gave themselves another massive bonuses or something.

Of coourse we know what they’ve been doing.  Opening doors to empty rooms and dancing the night away.  When they ran out of doors a week later and they had no one else left to blame but BP (as the Sierra Club and the NYT started to get grumpy about the  lack of action) they have had to come out in force to explain their superior motivations to the groundlings--actions well beyond the understanding of commoners, but they are very understanding of our ignoble ignroance.   It's all BP's fault.

It took them a week to figure that out.

BP is certainly culpable, though to what extent we may not know for some time--like everything else Obama touches.  But does that even matter?  The government’s obligation to protect its citizens and the homeland is not based on who is responsible for the catastrophe.  It is a requirement of the offices and agencies, more than adequately funded by taxpayer dollars, to act in a purposeful fashion with all available speed.  It should not just be another national party exercise in CYA for Obama and the democrats based on meeting minutes and political calculus.  But that's all they've got.

From day one the democrats under Obama have been insisting that everything works better when its planned from Washington DC, but every time they have an opportunity to prove it, they screw it up.  And it's not simply because Obama can't lead, or that the people he's chosen to surround himself with are all vapid power hungry posers and cronies who want to bask in the now diminishing limelight of celebrity that surrounded the black man president, it's that central planning never worked, and it never will.  Obama could be pink and it still wouldn't work.  It didn't work for retirement, it hasn't helped the poor, it won't help health care, and it is  clealry not working with democrats in chage.

But don't worry. They have scheduled a meeting about that and I'm sure we'll have their solution in about a week or so. And when they make the announcement, Obama will be clear.  Since day one he's had a laser like focus on jobs.  And he's got a new jobs program that will get regular American familes back to work--scrubbing rocks and sea birds along hundreds of miles of Gulf Coast.

For Whom The Bell Tolls

The democrat party is beholden to the abortion lobby.  Even "Pro-Life" democrats will toe the party line.  And there is a lesson in that. Several lessons perhaps.

One lesson has to be that voting for any democrat who claims to be "more conservative" than the average screaming left-wing nut bag, just to the right of (say) the Donny and Marie of modern Liberalism-- "I'm a little bit Lenin, he's a little bit Mussolini"-- is far too risky.  No democrat can be trusted not to fold under pressure.  Every democrat in office is a double agent for the liberal agenda.

But the more important lesson should be that anyone willing to extinguish human life for the sake of convenience (or as a matter of political party piety),  when that life poses no tangible threat to their authority,  should not be trusted to wield power over a human life that could.
