"Squirrels!" Best Mind Your Nuts!

NHS pays out one million for removing wrong testicleLast week I observed that the more train-wrecked-liberal places like California were already preparing for doctor shortages.  Medical Doctors are leaving the profession because of growing government interference and the looming price and cost pressures of Obama-Care.

The Progressive State's solution?  Redefine what "Doctor" means until all your oars are manned.  (Perhaps a more apt metaphor would be having enough hands to arrange all your deck chairs?)

This week I'd like to give that some perspective with this; from the UK Mail Online.

Roger Goss, co-director of Patient Concern (for Britain's National Health Service), told The Sun: 'It is amazing that surgeons don't always take enough care to guarantee that they are removing the correct testicle.'

No.  No.  You read that right.

In the last four years there have been 56 successful claims made by men who have been affected by medical blunders, according to the National Health Service Litigation Authority.

In most cases the men didn't need surgery at all and in others surgeons also had to remove the second testicle.

Do I need to draw a dotted incision line back to California's plans or are you and your "boys" there already?

For those of you that keep voting Democrat, this is a story is about how Britain's National Health Service (NHS), which is what Obama Care wants to be when it grows up, just paid out one million pounds in compensation to men whom many liberals still insist will out live me because of the superior quality of their government managed care but will now do so having either been "modified" incorrectly or by accident by the people the NHS calls 'Doctors.'

Clearly something has them distracted.

The NHS normally pays out around £20,000 if the wrong testicle has been removed.

...

Men who have been left infertile can be rewarded up to £70,000.

But the most common reason for payouts is when doctors misdiagnose testicular torsion — where the tubes inside the body get twisted, cutting off the blood supply.

Other claims result from hernia operations where the blood supply to the testicle is accidentally cut off.

acornsSo who wants to play a cross between Sesame Street's "these are the people in your neighborhood" (where they are all 'doctors'), and "one of these things is not like the other?"

Yes, I'm a barber AND a doctor. (snip snip)

You've been warned.  Obama Care is coming.  Best mind your nuts!

I’m a Doctor, You’re a Doctor, He’s a Doctor….

Dr pepper

…She’s a Doctor, wouldn’t you like to be a doctor too?

You might be a doctor and you didn’t even know it, because that is how you solve a doctor shortage caused by oppressive legislation in the peoples Republik of (in this case) Kalifornia.  Not enough “Doctors”… change the definition of doctor and Bam! Problem solved.

As a result of Obamacare and its expansion of coverage to millions, many states will begin to experience doctor shortages. California is dealing with this problem by redefining who is a “doctor.”

State lawmakers are working on legislation that would permit physician assistants and nurse practitioners to set up independent practices. Pharmacists and optometrists could now act as “primary care” providers.

These role changes will be common in the age of Obamacare, when even teachers will be “trained” to diagnose mental health and behavioral health problems in “school-based healthcare centers.”

As State Senator Ed Hernandez (D) says, “What good is it if they are going to have a health insurance card but no access to doctors?”

The solution, to those who support ObamaCare, is to permit more people to do what “doctors” have done in the past.

I’m not saying it’s all bad.  I see a Nurse practitioner now and again and she is great.  My Wifes OB/GYN had a midwife on staff who delivered at least one of my kids and she was great. But if I may work off that premise?  Would we do this for Firefighters?  How about Police officers?  We might.  Just curious.

Wiat, here’s a good one.  Since so many kids are “struggling” in public education, and everyone agrees we need to address the problem of class size, howzabout we change the definition of ‘Teacher” and permit millions (hundred of millions?) of qualified people who do not actually have a masters in education or a teaching degree, do what “teachers” have done in the past?

Think about what that would do for those burdensome class sizes!

I know.  They’ll never go for it.

So maybe the Doctors needed a union?  I know, too late.
