I'm glad Joe Kenney won the race for Executive Council. The campaign were an interesting contrast: Mike Cryans spent much of his time chasing endorsements in Concord and the Burton family; while Kenney worked on the issues and constituent service.
The election is over and the next part begins. Former Sen. Kenney faces a tough challenge in his new position. Gov. Maggie Hassan desires an innovation economy in NH that is centered around expanded government, social programs and ultimately higher taxes that most people won't be able to afford. Even with this election Gov. Hassan still has a 3-2 democratic majority on the Executive Council to make this happen.
As Ray Burton used to say, "The next election is never more than two years away." In the meantime Executive Councilor Joe Kenney will be a voice of reason and reality for all of District #1.
