To The Editor:
In late June Gov. Maggie Hassan signed Senate Bill 88 into state law.
This is legislation that calls for a study of "public-private partnerships" in the field of intermodal transportation, something that is needed in New Hampshire. It's also similar to what Maine and Vermont are doing namely, using transportation: highway, rail, air and sea to advance the economy and create locally based jobs.
I attempted to contact Executive Councilor Joe Kenney to see what his position is about intermodal transportation and creating jobs in the North Country. Kenney never responded. Senate Bill 88 is good legislation and law for New Hampshire. It's unfortunate that local politicians like Councilor Joe Kenney can't respond to this.
