NH GOP On the Rebound?

Much has been made of a growing rift within the NH Republican Party, but it appears despite whatever challenges the party faces it has made growth in attracting new supporters, donors and credibility. Even State Party critics such as Republican Representative Fran Wendelboe have applauded their efforts as of late, she wrote in todays Concord Monitor:

"The outstanding success of the New Hampshire Republican State Committee dinner last week demonstrated that the party is alive and well and united in the common cause to put the governance of New Hampshire back in the hand of Republicans in the 2008 election."

"Kudos to Chairman Fergus Cullen and his staff for an almost flawless event attended by over 600 Republicans- one of the largest in recent years."

Fergus Cullen has been excoriated by many party faithful in the hallways of lunchrooms and republican meetings throughout the state. He is very disliked by a lot of top republicans. Very disliked. Wendleboe would have been a breath of fresh air. Cullen will probably be asked to remove himself from his position after the first in the nation primary is over to make room for someone who did not take the job to increase his own poltical exposure or to help himself out personally. The top gun needs to be more agressive in going after democrats but Cullen refuses to do the job that needs to be done. Many people are whispering about him throughout the state house that he is all done and if he runs for any othe roffice he will lose.

Let's see... Fergus raised $150,000 and he owes the NH Democrats $125,000...the cost of the event was likely $45,000...Hmmm, Fergus ends up with a net loss of $20,000? Way to go Fergie!

The Republicans in this state are soooo lazy! Fork over some cash and help us out!!! You idiots wont even stand out with signs or attend events! The Democrats can somehow magically have hundreds of people in a matter of hours to volunteer. We had 600 people at the dinner, but the Dems get twice that and they are better at getting money out of the Preisdential candidates.

Fergus is very disliked by many republicans. He is arrogance and rude behavior to members within his own party has only divided the republican party even more than before.
Because of Fergus' poor leadership it will be another Democratic victory in 2008!

I am very dissapointed with Fergus. He has screwed the GOP with his self centered bad attitude.
Almost every republican is upset and he has drove the Independent voters away.
It is time for Fergus to remove himself from this position. He has already hurt the GOP enough!

Fran & Fergus keep up the great works you are doing getting the base excited again! They voted against the war in Iraq and instead received 'Loss of Parental Rights' 'Stealth Civil Unions signed in Secret' 'More Taxes' 'More Fee's' 'Largest Budget in History' '16% Budget increase' 'No secret Ballots in Union votes' 'No school reform, eliminated Charter schools'

And we still haved the War in Iraq!

The Democrats have done a far better job in just a few months than the republicans have done in 200 years in NH.
The republicans have no platform or good leaders.
Fergus' failed leadership just gives me and others another reason to vote Democratic.

Dissillusioned Dem, we have the war in Iraq because Bush and the stupid "go along republicans" put us there. What is even worse, republicans try to hide their mistakes instead of fixing them with new and improved ideas.
I agree with party faithful, Fergus should step down. He has proved to be very rude and a horrible leader. I have lost all respect for Fergus because of what he has done to the GOP and its members.

Fergus is a joke. The fact that the GOP even put this guy in charge only reminds us of what bad shape the republican party is in. The voters spoke loud and clear that they are sick of the republicans constantly screwing things up.
The republicans are finished and Fergus does not have the leadership skills to save it.
