Heritage Foundation - Poverty in the USA Rhetoric vs Reality

Heritage Foundation takes census bureau statistics and puts them into perspective.

Interesting that just a few days ago a bunch of people of mixed politicalviews were sitting around a campfire and reflecting on what it is like to live today versus when we were children. A few folks came from households that didn't have running hot water, never mind air conditioning and they didn't consider themselves poor. There wasn't many with TV's and the ones that did laughed about the possibility that they might get as many as 3 channels if they got the rabbit ears set just right.

Anyways Heritage Foundation ends with the conclusion that more work, thus more jobs is the solution to poverty!
